The gang at Hurst Performance Vehicles are unleashing their first ever turbocharged machine in honor of the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the BFGoodrich Radial T/A. Only 50 of the Redline Series Hurst Camaros (http://www.autoblog.com/model/camaro) are to be produced annually with each powered by a force-fed 3.6-liter V6. Power will flow to 18-inch Hurst T1 wheels with new Radial T/A Spec tires.

Hurst installs what it calls a "remoted-mounted" turbocharger on its modified exhaust, which actually doesn't sound like a very good idea if you're concerned about lag. Output should be about 360 horsepower and 320 pound-feet at the rear wheels - a 50-percent bump from stock. Inside, the turbocharged Camaro gets a pistol grip shift lever, custom leather upholstery and floor mats and an optional gauge package.

The Redline Series Camaro will sticker in the mid-$50,000 range depending on the options selected.

Hurst says a "50 percent gain in rear wheel horsepower and additional torque" is had with its remote-mounted turbocharger placed on the Hurst Modified exhaust -- meaning you're looking at 360 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 320 pound-feet of torque at 5000 rpm (the stock 3.6-liter V-6 makes 312 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque). Most interestingly, the setup provides "30 percent better fuel economy (http://movfast.com/forums/#) than the stock Camaro SS with its 6.2 liter V8."

How is that 50% gain?
Are we comparing 312 flywheel to 360 rwp?

even 312 flywheel translated to rwhp it still wouldnt be 50%

312 plus an additional 50% would be 468hp
So even if we use flywheel hp, that would mean a 108hp loss through the drivetrain.

That's just silly. The V-6 is great for what it is. But really, 50k for a mildly boosted Camaro. Bleh, I'll take the Vette please.
