If you can, stay away from Marietta for the next 4 days...people are freakin' out and traffic is a total mess due to the rising waters.
Might be as bad as Sept 04..ugh.

I spent a few hours down there after work let out early making up sandbags. Traffic when I left at 7 pm was almost no existant. You could have fired a rifle down 3rd and hit nothing. I hope its not as bad as last time but hear its going to be worse...at least we are somewhat prepared this time.

From what I was reading this morning, its supposed to crest tomorrow night between 42-44ft. To give you an idea, after Ivan, it crested at 41ft.
It will be higher, and more water, but not as "bad", due to preparations being taken this time.

If it freezes over we got a place to ice skate. The nursery down the street here on Stone Rd in belpre is clearing out, and I had to put all the MGB parts up high, so basically all my wiring diagrams and what i got done with the wiring is behind again. Last time we got about a foot of water in the basement. I just hope if it gets bad, all the businesses will decide to rebuild.

Ivan actually got over 44 feet. Most recounts I've seen/heard/read were in the 44.40-44.75' range. This flood is expected to reach the same height.
As of midnight the water is just a hair over 40 feet according to Mariettaoh.net and appears to be rising at around .2 feet a hour (down from .4 feet a hour this morning.)
From what I saw of the sandbagging on the 200 and 300 blocks of 2nd and 3rd, the sandbagging was a waste of time. I hope this is not the case but I suspect a lot of it had to do with people wanting to wait and see what it looks like in the morning before continuing to bag. We'll see what it looks like in the morning I guess.
As of midnight there was water on:
Pike
Gilman
100 blocks of 2nd, 3rd and 4th
Starting to show on the 300-400 and lower 500 blocks of 2nd and on the 300-400 blocks of 3rd
The fiargrounds and boat ramp are submerged
OH 60 closed at 821; 821 intersection about to go underwater
Within the next couple feet Reno will be cut off from Marietta as Rte. 7 goes under near Miller Supply.
Everybody get you air tanks out; we're going under a second time.
well it's 1am, an i just made a cruise thru vienna..
the golf course is under, an as far as i can tell the water has about roughly 2ft to go til its as high as it was last time, cause its not up on the windows of the clubhouse yet..

Well, shit! Was out in the smoking pit, and when I came in, the weather channel was reporting from Marietta. I missed most of it, coming in just to hear him say "most of these shops are closing their doors forever".

My buddy in Charlotte just informed me that NPR was discussing Marietta. Other than that, I don't know. AJ has a webcam set up at mariettaonline.com, but all you can really see is the Becky Thatcher and the B&O bridge.

On the report I was mildy paying attention to while I waited at the doc's office this morning, they said it should crest either tonight or tomorrow morning. The picture they showed was of 3rd I think, and there was like a small patch that wasn't under.
We spent most of yesterday helping Ben (ben2000formula) move his stuff off the ground floor as they expect a foot or so of water inside his apartment.

Well at the plant last night we have the level marked off in our screen house were we suck in water off the river and its to the point and passin 9-9-04 but just about six inches below what it was in 9-14-04 its funny that the second floor in the building and you can usually walk out on the landing on the first floor and the river is still ten feet below you. This is in beverly btw.

My street (Stone Rd.) here in belpre is underwater from 6th street to Campus Dr. another foot or so and my basement will be underwater. Hopefully the plugs will help it not come in like last time :(
::Edit::
Its in the Basement, about an inch of water :x
