Exhaust upgrades and air flows... from my car

I've been using an AutoTap to do OBDII datalogging. I have several of the following logs containing RPM and MAF. 1 and 2 were done on the same day. 3 was done at a later date(yesterday to be exact).

1. Stock
2. Buschur cat-back /w Magnaflow
3. Buschur cat-back /w Magnaflow, Downpipe and high flow cat

I put the logs into excel and graphed them on top of one another. I made the following graphs.

RPM vs MAF
RPM vs MAF/RPM(air flow per engine revolution... sorta like boost)

The exhaust upgrades seem to greatly improve spool-up, but didn't seem to increase air flow in the upper RPM range. I can definatly feel the faster spool-up and the car seem generally faster... I was just expecting to see more air flowing.

Very cool. Good data too. You must be one of them engineer guys right :)

I've only heard good things bout the downpipe upgrade...better low-end and quick spool up seem to be the biggest gains.

don't know if there were enuf ppl in my class this year...it was pretyty much just me and maybe 1 or 2 others on average.

If you beat someone in a higher class in the bumping order, they count towards the 20 comptitors that you need. I think you may get one. You definatly have enough points.

is SS above AS? If so I don't know if there were many ppl in that class either. Oh well, still fun. I'm bringing my projector to the banquet and will show a 26 minute movie on the 2004 Solo2 season...of course your EVO made the cut:)

First of Jan. every year. It's the awards banquet for the Southern WV Region of the SCCA. I won the A Stock Solo II(autocross) award last year. I should be taking home the Street Modified award this year. The award is a nice silver cup.

Unfort, my DVD burner was giving me some problems and I wasn't able to make many copies...I had to do it the long way. However, if anbody wants some copies, I'll make them, and bring them to the next AutoX. Haven't figured out any costs yet but any monies collected will go directly to the club.

Sometimes they are a llittle delayed on the dash plaques. I think I'm missing 2 but its not a big deal for me...but they are kinda cool.

A 26 minute video would be about 260 MB in 1.5 mbps wmv compression. That's a rough estimate, but it wouldn't be any more than that. I'd be willing to download it...actually, I'd be willing to host it for a few days, too. Also, I'm about 10-15 minutes away from Wellington's so if you need some quick copies made of the DVD you could always stop by Teays Valley.

This is a dumb thing to have to ask, but we are eating at the banquet...right?

Thanks for the offer. I think we'll just see if anybody else wants copies of the DVD after I show it. While it would be nice to have them there and ready, its just time consuming to make copies and will be more effieint if I get some kind of order of who really wants onethen bring em to the next AutoX.

AS far as eating goes... I sure hope we eat something!:) It did say "dinner" on the announcement (at 7pm) so I think were are safe. If there's no dinner then it looks like we are drinking for 3 hrs straight. oooo
