Nice man. My sister has a mildly modded tt auto for sale right now. Still my favorite z.

I didnt know you had a sister.. I am really excited about this one.
I gave it a good once over today, pretty solid. Very very very dirty. Been sitting for many years. Still havent decided what direction I am going to go with it.

VQ35DETT........... or, ya know, whatever.

Well the first step is to get it cleaned up, replace damaged pieces. I will probably put the JDM 1999 Fairlady tails and front bumper. It will need a paint job too.
I haven't decided on a motor yet. The darkhorse option is a rb26. The probable choice will be a vg30 with slightly larger turbos.
I really just want to make it a fun weekend car with around 400whp.
build a street ported 20b for it lol

Who knows what will end up in it.
I do still have the whole VG minus the block. Might be a fully built VG in the future.
More than likely right now I will just buy one of the VG motor sets off of an importer. I haven't had much luck finding just a USDM engine.

Everything, I mean everything you will ever need for a Z32. Do yourself a favor and buy the one piece driveshaft. Cheap, and a million times better than the factory. The guys there are also insanely knowledgeable. If you have a question, they've got an answer.

What those are AR Snipers I had a set on the neon! Still have them if anybody wants the gay things.

Still leaning towards a VG with larger turbos.

Nothing wrong with that, a little time, and a little money, and the VG is one hell of a motor. Heat soak is really the biggest issue on VG30DETT's, even stock, they get warm as all get out.

Got a few parts ordered this week. Looks like I will be going with the VG
I have on the way:
Wiseco forged pistons .40 over
Eagle H beam rods
Farrea 1mm oversized valves
Cometic MLS headgaskets
and I got a good deal on a set of used GReddy side mount intercoolers.
I am trying to find a good place up here in PA to have my block machined and have the coolant passages cleaned up to help with the heat issues.
I am also looking for a place to have my heads cleaned up.
Long ways to go!

Nice how much bigger are the greddys than a stock turbo ic?
m pwrd 3
11-12-2010, 09:22 AM
Stock is 6.5"H x 6.75"L x 2.25" D = 98.72ci
GReddy is 6"H x 8"W x 4.5"D = 216ci
Big enough for considerable cooling, small enough to not worry about considerable pressure drop.

Here are some stats on ambient outlet temp. Take it with a grain of salt it was found on the interwebs.
"I also have some 3rd party results concerning outlet temps of stock intercoolers vs. GReddy vs. Stillen.
ambient temp 70-72 degrees, 1 hour difference between intercooler swaps
Stock IC 0-120 mph
1. 175 F
2. 215 F
3. 235 F
Greddy SMIC 0-120 mph - stock air guides
1. 130 F
2. 140 F
3. 145 F"

Change of plans on the build. I ended up getting scammed on the engine internals, I did however get all of my money back.
Now I just plan to get another engine to drop in, so I can get it completed by summer and just enjoy it.

Here is a quick update on the Z. I finally got it down to my parent's garage were I am able to work on it. The only things I have really done so far is just getting the interior cleaned up and pulling the front bumper. I have also acquired more parts. I also am picking up another TT Z in February that I am taking the engine from to use in my car. The donor car is in rough shape but it has a low mileage engine and lots of other parts I need. Anyways here is what I have parts wise so far.
17x8.5 Enkei GTC01 wheels
KYB AGX struts
Tein H-Tech springs
Apex-i AVCR
Stillen Short throw
Greddy SMIC
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch
Drilled rotors
Trust catback
As you can see I really have no order in which I am buying stuff. Just picking it up whenever I find a good deal. So long as everything continues to go smoothly I should be able to have it almost completed by April.

Just ordered a Selin MAF translator, Selin intake elbows, ATE super blue brake fluid and SS brake lines.
Tentatively scheduled to pick up the other TT on the 19th.
Its going to be hard, but I am trying to get it mostly completed by April.

As for tuning software, I am looking into going with Nistune (http://www.nistune.com/) ECU tuning. This part of the whole process is still over my head, so I have been doing a lot of researching on it.
Racerx300zx
02-07-2011, 08:46 PM
I'm not familiar with the software, but I've heard a couple guys talk of using it wiht great success. Have to see if my time frees up and if you need another hand I'll throw in on a project.

I ordered a set of BF Goodrich G-Force KDW's 245/40R17 all around. Also today I will be ordering a set of Z1 solid subframe bushings and an Energy Suspension Master set.
So hopefully this weekend I will have all the suspension, brakes and wheels put on.
I am still planning on picking up the other TT on Saturday. Anyone want to go for a ride to Maryland?
m pwrd 3
02-21-2011, 06:23 PM
Decided not to go with the Z1 solid subframe bushings, said to be a really harsh ride. I did get the Energy Suspension bushing kit though, it has replacement subframe bushing in it.
I also got the other TT chassis Saturday. It is not as good as I had hope it would be but it has a lot of the parts I needed. Including a partially dissembled VG in it, Liam would you be so kind as to show me how it goes back together?
