We've seen companies attempt to turn the Chevrolet Camaro into a Pontiac Trans-Am (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/12/confirmed-phoenix-trans-am-conversion-kit-coming-for-camaro/), but the results are often mixed at best (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/07/asc-recreates-trans-am-with-2010-chevrolet-camaro/). Heide Performance Products, a customizing company out of Madison Heights, MI, is looking to change that. Is it successful? Well, let's just say we're looking forward to seeing HPP's pointy-nosed '69 Trans Am knock-off with our own eyes at SEMA (http://www.autoblog.com/category/SEMA-show/) next week.
The company has detailed the build process on its Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Madison-Heights-MI/HPP-Heide-Performance-Products/229228645751), and there's also a second Camaro with T-Tops the company is bringing to SEMA. Finally, we have modern versions of the Dodge Daytona (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/18/the-backstory-behind-hpps-showstopping-daytona-conversion-is/) and Plymouth Superbird based off the current Challenger (http://autoblog.com/model/challenger).
