If anyone needs brake work, I'm your man! I've got both a drum and disc brake lathe so if you're rotors are warped or drums worn, then I can turn them for cheap. Just let me know!

Also, any other work is welcome. Whether it be something minor to something major.

Do you refuse to work on domestic brake systems? Just curious why this is in the Import section.

A lathe wont do much for the caliper.

Maxis: Check your pm's

Jay: What kind of head work do you need done? I offered when I was in school for CHEAP work! Plus I had access to ANY machine that I wanted!!! I could have done 7 angle valve jobs for 100 bucks! That's cheap. BUT no one took me up on it but one of my buddies. I can do head porting, but as far as milling and cutting seats I am not working in a machine shop yet.

Robbie-No I don't refuse to work on domestics! Ha ha ha. I would never turn down a job. But, I didn't really know where to put it and I figured most people on here read this forum the most. And blancard grind rotors? I have honestly never heard that expression. I may know it as something else. What exactly are you meaning?

I need to make up some business cards. I also do detailing if anyone is interested. Guranteed spot free and probably cleaner than it has been since it's been owned. :D

But, for the time being I work out of my shop that is located at my father's machine shop on 550 in Marietta. It's a heated bay with a lift and air lines all through the shop. I was lucky enough to have a number of specialty tools for jobs left over by the last company that was here, so for those tough jobs I can save you lots of money vs. taking it to somewhere else. I never claimed to be a genius or a master technician so if I can't fix it or I really don't know, I will tell you. I'll be completely honest with you and trustworthy. As for now, I've been doing minor-somewhat major repairs. Brakes, CV joints, engine work, engine building, some ac work (a little slow now that it's cold out), electrical, stereo, blueprinting, and I'm trying to get into a machine shop (Marietta Ignition) I've just been strapped for time. So if anyone needs help/work just let me know

Researching a little bit robbie, I take it blanchard is just a surface grinder that is used to lighten up the rotor and/or get rid of hot spots?
If so, the answer is no. I use a brake lather that has two carbide bits on each side of the rotor and cuts a thousandth OUT a second. (Follow me?)
What I would do in the case of turning a rotor is measure in 8 different spots with a micrometer for parallelism. Then basically do about 3 thousandths-4 thousandsths the first cut. From then on I will do a pass of about 2 thousandths. I also have a raybesto's book with every single car ever made telling me your minimum machining thicknesses, etc. So I don't know if that helps to clear anything up for you. If not, then I hope I can.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I still plan on looking you up for my head....hopefully once I have the cash again and you have access to the machines.....it will work out....
