Well, I tried starting my car today, but it wouldnt turn over, so i begin to check everything, and i squeeze the lower coolant hose on the radiator, well, it was stiff as a rock, and ICE cold, and i could feel ice in it  I guess the people who fixed the freeze plugs on it just filled it with water  and since it got down really cold last night, it froze. Could i just put antifreeze in it, and would that break it up or even warm water too, or is this very serious

Drain it immedialty....if its inside your block and its really really cold and it freezes completly...it could or may have cracked your block...

They put plugs to keep this from happening...but you never know....

Once its ALL drained....put a fresh 50/50 mix back in.....

You may need to fill it with very warm water to break the ice up enough..

Don't start it....flush it and drain it...

Good luck dude.... 8)

Well, I guess it wasnt the cooling system, freaking fuel pump :( I checked the relay and the fuse for it, but to no avail. I took the main fuel line off, turned on the car, nothing coming out

Happens....run down to Vatozone...and grab some gas line freeze.....

Should keep it from happening again....until then you will have to wait until it melts...... 8)

uhm.. well it's cool you tracked down the problem, but like what does the fuel line bein froze have to do with the coolant bein froze?

Same. I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. There's a big difference in a coolant line than a fuel line so I don't think he was conufsed.

Yeah, the lower line was hard, so i topped it off with antifreeze, that problem is fixed. As for the fuel pump, kinda ironic :? Oh well, gotta get it towed tomorrow to the shop, bummer :(

If you pulled it into a garage....I would think it would thaw on its on...if thats the case....

Save you from having it towed to a shop....?>? 8)

yeah, you prolly just had a little water vapor in your fuel line...let it thaw out, and see what happens.

Yeah, I wish it was that, but i cant even hear the fuel pump like i used to. Dad had it towed today, I wont get it back till monday, oh well, with the up coming weather, its probably a good thing i dont have it this weekend

They finally got around into putting in a new fuel pump. Still nothing. They said theres no power getting to the pump to activate it, even though the relay activiates. any ideas people...

Yes, there is a safety device "computer-wise" that a lot of chrysler's have that prevent the fuel pump from running. You never said what kind of car. What is it? Might be able to help you out if I knew that.

I just went back and read what you had written before. Uhhhh....Well if you asked me, I would start from the fuel pump and work my way backwards. If the relay activates there IS power getting to the relay but is shorted out and grounded before the pump. I'd start at the pump and check voltage all the way back.

Well, dad figured it out, mechanic didnt know crap. Theres 4 wires connecting the fuel pump to the rest of the wiring, and down the line, on the side of the tank, theres a connector. Well one of the pins are bad. To fix it, you have to buy a whole new bracket and wiring harness, which costs 150.00 bucks. Well, they cant jury rig it to work there, because of safety hazards, so dad is gonna get new pins, and seal it with tank sealer :)

Hard wire it...cut the connectors wire, solder, tape.

Voila...you just saved yourself $150 bucks.... 8)
