Okay, I'm doing telemarketing to pay the bills, the upside is that I make pretty good $$. I was saving up to drop in a 7M-GTE (3.0 liter 24valve turbo'd straight 6). A JDM 7M-GTE can be had on ebay for around 1000, a wiring harness can be done myself, and there are a few other mod's I'd have to do such as modifying my oil pan for an oil return, and relocation of the oil filter itself. Aside from that it's not too much of a pain. I can purchase a plug & go harness for about 600 USD, but don't wanna pay that much (seeing as the engine itself will run between 600 >> 800).

I know there are multiple factors in deciding what engine to go with, and what to do to the car based on use and end goal.

I want the car to handle very nimbly, if a little stiff & painful for daily driving, I personally like being able to feel the car handle. I'm not aiming for a high HP monster to drag with, however I will most likely do a bit of dragging, I'm aiming for a beast of a daily driver that I can simply drive to the AutoX track and own all over it.

What I was contemplating was several things. The entire 7M-GTE engine swap will run me nearly 2,000 @ least, and that's just dropping in a stock 7M-GTE no rebuilds, no BPU's, no engine rebuild or anything.

With my end goal of having a 2 seater supra daily driver that is killer on the AutoX track, I'm not sure if I should keep the 5M-GE (straight 6, 12 valve 2.8 liter) and simply spend the 2000 to build it up, re-build it, re-ring it, new seals & gaskets, port & polish.... potentially bore & put in over-size pistons.

I know the 6M-GE is supposed be a tad better & higher revving from what I've heard, the 7M-GTE is obviously the way to go since performance items abound for this engine block series.

I do intend to entirely replace the suspension with OTC better suspension parts, and potentially put in adjustable sports/racing suspension components...

What are YOUR suggestions, ideas & input. I'd love to have a 7M-GTE in my MK II, however for the money and what I want it to do... I don't know if the money would be well spent since I have 3,000 in the car itself.

Swap in a turbo built 22re as they are relativly cheap and you can find many mnay parts for them.

Well the 22-RTE is a decent engine with high revving capabilities, however since my car will never really be able to get too much lighter even after gutting the back, I don't want to take a step back and lose the torque of the 6 cylinders...

Plus if I wanted a 4-cylinder Supra.. I'd have kept my 84 Celica GT
