*thumbs up* on the pics.
I heart the Rx-7...... 8)
Can I ask what software you use to make the slideshow?
Looks good.
Also, where did you buy your "bullet cam"?
Mind giving some details about what it is, and how much you have in it?
I am very very interested..... 8)

No way man! Having the sunroof open adds headroom so I can actually look at something other then the steering wheel! ;)
I like picture 118 (IMG_8066) of my car best. The car looks kinda funny with the camera on it...but the audio from that run should be interesting if it didn't overpower the mic.

Your video came out the best. Great visual and sound. Your slalom speed was way faster than mine!
My video was good, but something is wrong with my mic...it cut out on me thru the course. (maybe the hi-G-loads  ) So the sound doesn't exist thru 3 of my runs.
Lesson to self...test audio and visual after each run.
Hopefully get the vids up sometime tomorrow.

I think the slideshow program I use is "thumbnail creator". It is very easy to use. Creates all the html for me and I just upload the pics and index pages.
I got my bulletcam from http://www.chasecam.com I use a single suction mount made especially for the bulletcam. Its been good for up to over 100+mph. Video outputs into 480i I believe. DVD's have come out great on TV.
The bulletcam setup, with mount and connection came to around $300.
I use a Canon Optura 200MC ($800+) MiniDv for the capture. The bulletcam will only work if your camcorder has analog video outputs. Many Canon cams do as well as some Sony's. I really only recommend MiniDV format. Much better picture quality and Canons lenses and build is the best IMHO. (u remember all that stuff from your CC days...)
I use Pinnacle Studios 9 with Hollwood SpecialFX for video software. (capture, edit, render and burn to DVD+R)
As you already know video'ing stuff takes huge space.
My AVI files avgerage 300-500MB for a 1min autoX run.
It took 5GB on that "reimeister" video I took.
Gotta have fast computer stuff or your software just won't run well.
My setup:
Win XP
Dell P4 2.8 GHz HT.
1GB Ram
120MB internal HD
160GB external firewire HD
ATi 128MB 9700Pro vid card
Dual monitors -19' and 17'
Will probably get a raid 0 dual 10,000rpm 37GB Raptor Hard drives for better video capturing and editing efficency.
That's my setup. I'll bring it to the next cookout or drive-around (if I can make it..baby on the way...) and we can mount it to your car, see how you like it. Sorry I can't loan it out:(
Any questions, fire away..

Sounds like you have a nice setup. Definatly an invest I want to make in the near future. Only question is that I don't understand why it has to be anolog only? How does that affect the cam mount?
I am working on saving some $$ for school this fall, once thats done, I think I might look into a nice cam for myself. The Hi-8 is my moms, and takes great vids...just a little big to be mounting on my car...Its a little bigger than palm size.
I understand about the loan thing...maybe once we become good autocross buds......

I hear what you are saying on saving some $$ for school. (That's what u should be doin:)!)
The bulletcam itself has an analog video feed that comes off of it. That must plug into the analog output on your camcorder. (sry, me bad, nothing to do with mount itself)
Some guys, use their camcorders mounted to a suction or magnetic device on the exterior of their car. I actually find this to be rather dangerous. First off, their $$ camera would taking abeating and vibration would be terrible. (more weight, more vibration) Secondly, the camcorder would act as a missle if it came off it mount around a AutoX course (or street) and could very possibly hurt somebody. Can you imagine seeing that! A guy at this past AutoX had this on his car. I didn't think it looked too safe, but it held on fine thru numerous runs.
Even though my Canon Elura is very small, I would not risk it exposing it to the elements and potential danger to somebody if it decides to launch.

I'm sure he means 'analog INPUT on your camcorder.' Output to output... that sounds... um... kinda gay.

lol...output to output sounds gay lol Davis, I actually have one of those "dangerous" mounts and I couldn't pull that thing off of anything we have attached it to. I like the option of being able to use diffent lenses and filters on my camera, as opposed to the bulletcam. Also, I would assume that the more times that video is transferred through cables before it is actually captured, the lower the quality. There is slightly more vibration with our videos, but I'd say that it would suffice, especially since we never really prepare...if we decide we need to the store or something we may mount it up for shits and giggles, but that's about as far as we've gone thus far. The Panasonic GS15 we use weighs less than a pound and is held on by 4 industrial suction cups mounted on a flat piece of aluminum. You could literally destroy whatever body panel it is attached to before you pulled it off without releasing the cups. If you need proof, go to stickypod.com and watch the first video...only 2 of the suction cups were on, on a completely vertical panel, and the guy was drifting. The current setup I have PC wise is
Sony Vaio PC @ 3G Pentium 4 w/HT ("My Computer" properties says 5.87G?)
512 MB RAM
160G internal
19" Monitor
ATI Radeon 9200 128 MB
Dazzle DVC 150 (captures in DVD quality MPG2 format, claims it uses 1.5G per 20 minutes)
Pinnacle Studio 8 w/ Hollywood FX and various others
I need to get an external HD, but it's all doing fine for now.
