Let us not forget about Yugo... as a matter of fact, the guy making this happen is the same guy that brought the Yugo brand to the U.S.!

I especially liked the part where he says he's gonna make a car to compete with BMW's 6 series for under $20,000 with a turbocharged V8. :?

~yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay~
Well, we have everything else made in China now so we might as well have cars too. Maybe they will actually build something decent and interesting for a reasonable price.
Malcolm Bricklin is responsible for quite a few oddities over the years. He was the originator for Subaru being in the USA as well as through cars like the Bricklin onto the automotive scene, failure that it was. People like to remember the worst things that people do, not the good things. Then again, I saw a Turbo Yugo running around the other day…

It was bound to happen sometime/day. Unless the US puts import restrictions on these cars, detroit will ge hurt even more.
Good looking car, decent quality, great value is key....it should do rather well if organized properly.

let's see a turbocharged V8 with a 100k mile warranty and aimed at BMW's 6 series for less than 20k...I'll take one please :D

The fact that they are aiming for it impresses me, This gives GM even more incentive to bring back the Firebird/Camero

Designs have been underway for quite some time now.. notice how the price of the C6 went up drastically this year? It's because once the Camaro is re-released the price would be just under that of the Vette.. with the Camaro coming back they needed to aim it twards the Mustang price range, and step the Vette up a catagory.

I can only cross my fingers and hope that they bring them back. They better not stick with the GTO

I haven't researched it or anything, but I recall various sources quoting that the C6 would be just a shade less expensive than the C5. :dunno:

They never intended to kill it off for good.. Sales of the f-body were droppin off mainly because of price and insurance. Also you could pick up a C5 for just a little more than what you could get a Z28 SS for.
Have you checked the new goat out? I hated them til i got behind the wheel of one.. pretty sweet

I would say it means that people need to stop assuming that because it came from this country it sucks. I don't think Domestics are superior or inferior in any way, but people are always like "it looks like a Grand Prix." Well, I know a lot of people who would like to have a Grand Prix if they didn't make the new ones look weird and they were faster. Hence the GTO. 400 HP for $35K...that should be convincing enough. Get past the Pontiac grill. Half of the car companies out there have their own signature grill now, and at least the Pontiac one doesn't look bad.
On the other hand, GM does need to lay off of the ummm...layoffs..? They're corporate bastards, but I actually like their cars...it just took me getting a Subaru to figure out how much I like GM.
