I called and talked to Corey @ Slowmo...the guys that are gonna tune my car.
Here is what he recommends.
After I have it all assembled, bring it in for a base tune. Then drive it for 500-1000 miles and bring it back for a full tune.
That is how he does his motors, and have had great luck so far. I think I am going to follow his advice.
So far its only been started for 20 mins tops..gonna change the oil and let it set until its ready to be put on the trailer....
Can't wait...
Looking around another month before I have everything completly finished.....
Rest of exhuast/bumper painted/manifold/ cooler pipes/boost controller/finish wiring/etc....

so basically they wait til its broke-in to run the piss out of it

Sounds good Adam...just make sure to check your oil levels often...as in every time you start your car. Cold readings are best but also a reading after you have run the car. Very important (you already know this..) to keep an eye on things. Buddy of mine blew his turbo in his Celia All-Trac as oil levels went south and he didn't chek it for a week or so. Since this is a new turbo and basically a new engine, make sure all levels are perfect.
Looking forward to hear the beast!

Very good advice Davis. I have an oil pressure guage for this very reason. A long time ago when I had my oil return come off as I was headed home from Vienna. I glanced down and saw my oil pressure falling? Pulled off the road and watch my oil drain the rest of the way out of my pan....
So, it has saved me already...worth the $50 bucks for sure.
I will be draining my oil this weekend, get all the gunk and assembly lube, mixed gas with it.
Start out fresh again, with a new filter. Gonna cut this one apart and see how it looks inside, metal peices and what not.

It was done right last time.....
I can't help it if a tuner misjudged my a/f and cracks my ringlands....
For gods sake, he didn't even adjust my timing, and everyone knows that Vafc's advance timing...thats the last thing you want for a turbo setup....

Quantum Racing has a Dynapack AWD dyno. They're located outside the beltway around columbus; North East side. I've been there to buy a set of stock Evo rims.
