I think the avatar max size limit should be upped. Bring a little flavor to the board or something. But hey, maybe that's just me. I just wanted a little animation in mine.

Anything under 10 kb is hard to find...period.

agreed..ive got alot of good ones..but most are in the 40 k area

I agree...

10K is very limiting...

Find a pic, resize, downgrade the quality, and then you can't tell what it is sometimes..

Would be nice if we could work on this....ahem.....Robbie...cough cough

10k isn't limiting if you use 56k. I know I wouldn't want to wait a minute to view a page because someone feels they should use a 300k avatar.

Well, I don't know if that's fair to say. Why should dial-up users be punished because they can't afford a faster connection? A lot of people are stuck with dial-up as many areas in the mov don't have any cable isp's to get service from. Little Hocking finally got cable just a month or two ago. I know you could always go with Directway, but that's really pricey, unless you already have like Direct TV's best channel package.

Would be nice if we could choose a High Bandwidth or Low Bandwidth connection before entering...and it would load the appropriate images/etc.....like flash sometimes does..... 8)

I already have to suffer because people take up half a page in smileys, dancing napolean dynomites and big pics in the sigs. Now you want huge avatars? just find what you want and resize it, it takes what 3 minutes?

Paying more isn't a valid point. That is your choice. Also, many people with dial-up connections have two phone lines ($20 area for each?) and have to pay around $15-$20 for their internet connection. So they're at least paying in $30-$40 for 56k, while we're paying $40 for 1.5mbit-3mbit. Its more of a "we'd have it if it is available" kind of thing nowadays.

10K -> 50K

The size limit of 100x100 still stands. The only reason why I haven't put a size limit on signature pics, or even stop signature pics all-together is because there isn't an option to do it.... believe me I would. I hate 300pixel tall dancing Napoleans too Dave.

You're confusing choice with obligation. You using a huge avatar gives them no choice but to view it in every thread you post in (as well as everyone else who uses large avatars). Saying its also their choice to view the thread is horsecrap. Thats like saying you should be allowed to drive 100mph on the road because you say you can, but its my fault for choosing to drive on the same road as you.

No we couldn't argue it all day long, because you would have given them no choice other than to see your avatar. Thanks for the philosophical take on life though, not like I haven't heard that before.
