Finally starting to make some progress on the mustang!!! I would have had the transmission and drive shaft in today, but didn't have any help..lol....the TKO-600 is freakin' heavy for a 5 speed, and I just didn't want to try and tackle it by myself. I ordered a ton of parts this weekend, and it should be everything I need to get it back on the road. Here's some pics of the progress...

Long way to go, but I'm getting there!!!! I'll post more pics as I make progress.
Tremec's weigh a ton compared to a regular t5.
You can just look at the case and tell its stronger
A friend of mine had a richmond 6spd in a fox. It was literally bulletproof. I think it weighed as much as the car lol

Yeah, it's in there. Custom built brace from my buddy Paul at Specialy Iron Works, Moser 31 spline axles and a Detroit TruTrac diff. This isn't a great pic, but here's a shot of it in the car.

Still got a long way to go!!! I hope to have it back on the road by early Spring.....I'm betting that I run out of nice days before I get it done. I still have to install the transmission, drive shaft, master cylinder, brake booster, stainless steel braided brake lines, fuel tank, fuel pump, and rear springs, and probably a ton more I'm forgetting about...lol. We'll see how much I get done before Winter sets in...

Yeah, going from 11" to 13" rotors on the front and drums to 11" rotors on the back, should make a pretty noticeable difference in stopping!
The fox isn't really known for good braking lol.

You do have an adjustable proportioning valve right?
keesor
10-23-2011, 03:46 PM
Yep, just haven't gotten to that part yet...lol. I've still got to replace the brake booster, and master cylinder, and I'll install the proportioning valve, when I do that. Plus I still have to install the SS braided lines on the rear, and new hard lines on the rear. Yippie!!!

I finally got the front suspension buttoned up today!!! I still haven't touched the rear yet, so it is sitting way to high, but the front looks pretty decent, and it should settle down just a little lower.

Looking good man....I was just checking incase you didn't have that valve.
It'll settle a good 1/2" to 3/4" once you pull it out of the driveway.
You almost have it ready to drive in the snow!

lol....you wouldn't say that if you saw the list of shit that still has to be done...lol. It will be early spring hopefully.
