I would like to attend...I will make sure to sign up and become a member. Just curious how much you guys paid for the weekend @ mid-ohio, and how much I will need to bring with me? Anyway, It sounds very informative, and with both Robbie and Davis in my class @ autocross, I'll need as much instruction as I can get. :lol:

The weekend at the track will cost $275 up front and the membership cost.
We will split a hotel room and you will need to eat. We are not going get drunk because we have to drive. I would take another hundred with me. The application is at the link above.
All in all about $450 for the first time.

A HPDE event is something that anyone who wants to learn how to drive fast and properly should attend. However it is very different than AutoX. Lapping is at MUCH higher speeds..not only on the straight but turns too. (example. a 70 degree turn 1 at Mid-Ohio is at 80+mph) Plus you need to keep your cool while passing or being passed on the track at high speed. (ex. Mid-Ohio straight tops out to around 130mph in our cars)
A good friend of mine is an instructor for many HPDE events. (Viper, Audi and BMW clubs) He's very good and fast in his STi. He tried AutoX'ing for the first time last year. He said he got stomped on by the regulars. HPDE vs. AutoX is just 2 completely different animals...however you can't afford to make mistakes in HPDE.
HPDE= wayy fun

I would be all over that, I just don't see my insurance covering and "accident"......
That is the only thing that really keeps me from going all out with something along those lines...... :(
Adam we should get cheap crs's or old civics or something to do this with..
it looks like a friggin blast

I totally agree....once I finish school and have a job that actually pays me $$...instead of peanuts, I will have a track only car....something that I wouldn't be so down if I wrecked it...like an Evo or Sti...... 8)

Make sure to get it in the mail on the 17th of March. NO EARLIER... they won't accept them.
You need to apply for BMW CCA Membership NOW.
