Subaru vs Mitsubishi Showdown

Hey thought everyone might like to know about this. I have been up to norwalk before, and it is a great track, and I think this should be a pretty good event.

This is a drag race event, I know alot of people here are into autoX but these are alot of fun too, one of my friends took second at a bracket racing dragrace and it is a blast. There will most likely be a few vendors at this as well, so if you want to buy stuff bring money, they usually deal with you.

Norwalk Raceway Park, Norwalk, Ohio.

FRIDAY, April 15th, 2005

Gates open at 8 am. Gates Close at 5 pm.

CLASSES:

EVO vs. WRX
*Heads up, full interior required, DOT Tires, NO nitous

MITSUBISHI Q8
*Heads up. Must qualify. Fastest 8 Mitsubishi powered cars at the track. Anything goes, no tube chassis cars. Slicks, nitrous, gutted, RWD O.K.

SUBARU Q8
*Heads up. Must qualify. Fastest 8 Subaru powered cars at the track. Anything goes, no tube chassis cars. Slicks, nitrous, gutted, RWD O.K.

BRACKET
*Handicapped class, open to any and all Mitsubishi's and Subaru's. Car's must be powered by ANY Mitsubishi or Subara engine in ANY body. Anything goes, nitrous, slicks, tube chassis. This is a handicap start class, best driver with the most consisten car will win this class.

Spectator fee, $15.
Car and driver, $35.

Trophies for 1st-3rd place in each class.

I would most definately attend...accept Ive put in WAY to much PTO @ work for the next month...if I can get that friday off I will be up there in a heartbeat...the DSM Shootout was a blast last year @ Norwalk...this should be good as well....

I'd like to go, but I'm scheduled to work on Friday. I'm not sure what kind of turn out they'll have on a Friday anyway. :dunno:

Check out AMS's EVO's new setup :twisted:

They havent done too much testing on it yet because all the wheels break free on the dyno when it hits boost....

Oh yeh...forgot to mention that it will be there for its first 1/4 runs w/this new setup...soooo...it ought to throw an interesting twist... The DynoFlash Evo and the Turbo Trix evo are going to have a grudge match (best out of 5 races), soo...now maybe the AMS will run even faster than them!!! The Turbo Trix evo has run a 9.7 and the dynoflash evo has run a 10.35 (on low boost)...the AMS has run a 10.8 with the old set up....so this will be very interesting...There are going to be soooo many fast evo's there...they said that last year the subaru's didnt even make it to the semi finals (only 4 evo's left last year :lol: )...So hopefully Subaru will provide a challenge this year....

Talk about "you snooze you lose"...I thought I had months to put this off, and now it's tomorrow and I haven't planned to attend. There's auto-x sunday, too. This woulda been a great opportunity for some good videos :(

I thought it was very cool. There were some awesome cars. I really should have ran my car, but with the move coming up I can't afford an Evo breakage.

I haven't been to many drag strip venues, but Norwalk seemed very nice. It even had a playground for the children to play on.

Someone did run. Hopefully he'll post about it.
