Why are neon underglows so frown'd upon. I honestly like them on some cars aslong as that isnt they only thing they have on them. I was talking with Robbie the other night at the meet about this EVO that had neons and people made fun of it.. WHy :?

Well, some people are "show" people, some are "performance" people.

I fit in the performance group (I think). Most performance guys don't really believe in spending $$ on "showy" stuff since it it doesn't make you car faster. (better skills make car faster thou)

I use to really make fun of cars (not out loud thou) that had tons of lights and vinyls, and lights, and neons, and lights, and stuff. I've never really understood why, but have learned to accept it since they probably fir in the "show" class.

Then I guess there is another sub-class under the "show" class that is the: "who has the largest subwoofer" car.
I like music, (was a music major) I listen to everything from opera, to rock, to jazz. However (and this is just my opinion) I really do not have an understanding of the subwoofer group playing mostly booming rap.

Is it not loud enough at normal levels?
Is it because the driver needs people to look at him or her?
Is it because they once had a job in artillery and cannot hear well, hence the reason to turn the volume to 100 db?
Is it because the enjoy the blasting of theri ear drums at lower frequencies?

Fill me in please.

I am rock/rap/r&b guy myself.

I have my component set for my highs, which I like alot ie: rock and some R&b.

Then I have my sub for the all around solid sound.

Although there are some days, where I am in the mood to "feel" the music. I could car less if someone else hears, although anymore its not a big deal...



Davis you would understand:

Like in your Home Theater, when someone gets punched or a bomb explodes I am sure you have a subwoofer that probably hits pertty hard. Its not for stricly music, but sorta in the same category.

Some people are just into that more than others...to each there own.

We are in the performance category, more than looks. Others rather look good than go fast....I like these people...less competition...lol... 8)

Is it not OK to be both preformance oriented and have a cool car too. Too much emphasis is put on the "ricer" stereotype these days. However, rope christmas lights are definately ricer!

I actually like "tastefully" done underbody neon kits...I feel that im more performance based yet "to each his own"....and thats all im going to say in fear i may go off on another tangent about the whole body kit christmas light thing.... :roll:

But why exactly is it "Crap" i think it looks good if it is done right but that is only my opinion. for example i prolly shouldnt be saying this but the Skyline on 2Fast2furious, all the neon lighting.

i will agree with that one(not the skyline part)on how It ruined the compact scene. When fast and the furious came out Street racing became "COOL". Because people now think if they have neons and some vinyls they are cool. Thats what makes the Nice cars with neon lighting look bad :evil: .
