My dads friend picked up a 95 cobra at an auction. I got a call yesterday that I needed to come dive it, it's so fast bla bla. The same crap everyone says.

I popped the hood, trickflow intake, vortec s/c, clean engine but appeared to be stock heads, I dunno, didn't look took much, just know they aren't aluminum.

Sfc's, uppers and lowers, adjustable struts, camber plates, all the typical stuff basically.

I get in it, apply the 100lbs it took to push the clutch in, and hit the key. It starts thumping, sounds like a b-cam. Smacked the pedal and it ripped up like a 2 stroke.

I pulled out onto the 4 lane in 1st and barely gave it the gas and it began spinning. I short shifted to 2nd, tapped the gas and broke loose. I feathered it a bit then banged 3rd, now I'm fish tailing. I yank it into 4th and hit it wide open. I'm now literally melting the tires off.

Any how I get back and he's like "what you think is all done to this thing?" My reply "a lot".

These were 275 drag radials that were frying. I suggested he purchase some 315s or just plain slicks. He suggested I just buy the car lol.

I just bought my 07 or I'd be all over it. He called today and made me a hell of a deal on it though so I may go ahead and get it.

I just hate buying something that you don't know anything about. I'm going to see if I can locate the previous owner and hope he isn't a Dick.
