Spring is here again and I am guaging interest in a spring movFast Meet / BBQ.
Seeking ideas / suggestions on locations, food selection, volunteers to help organize, DATE of the event, etc.
Please refrain from making moronic postwhoring comments such as "this sounds like a good idea 8) " or "I'm up for it :D "
I have a few suggestions on a nice location that would involve a leisurely country cruise at hocking hills if people are interested in traveling about an hour for an awesome location. I find that most of the time with things like this though, people are not willing to travel a little bit for a good time, so unless high participation interest in such an activity is shown, I'll drop that idea quickly. For those of you not familiar with the hocking hills region, it is located near logan ohio north of athens and has some of the area's best kept curvy and scenic roads.
So, whose got ideas?

I'm up for it....sorry, heh/
side note: EVO and the STi are the worlds fastest cars!
Anyways, while I'd love to go for a fun run out thru the hills, I believe it needs its own separate event with participation.
The BBQ might be more successful if it was local (Williamstown park was great last time me thinks) and would have the opportunity of bringing in our own grill. Yes, planning 3-4 weeks ahead would be very helpful as schedules are getting filled quickly.
Good idea Tim and I'll be more than happy to help plan anything out as well as providing supplies.
C note!!! Please come! You make the best burgers!
Cheers,

Yeah, pretty much exactly what he said. Including the part about the Evo and STi... they are very fun c4rs!
Let me start with throwing out some dates... Sat April 30th... Sat May 14th...
I say we shoot for one nice event per month(BBQ/cruise/picnic/etc.)

I was actually considering bringing back the old thread where I tried to get a back road cruise planned. The past couple days that have been nice I have taking short drives and sparked my intrests again.
Tim- I could start that back up if you want to do the BBQ.......
But yeah "I'm in"

Definatly Tim. Good idea....last yrs went well.....
You know "I'm up for it".....
A niice cruise would be great, we could schedule the cruise to go by a local store so we could pick up supplies...
You cruise, you eat, you pay.....
Count me in.....if I can help let me know dude..... --8)

Okay... Upon further consideration, I've decided (based on other folks' comments) that the hocking hills idea is best left separated from this event. For those who have shown interest, PM me and I may lead a cruise out there... but certain rules would be attached to said cruise.
Here is what I'd like to propose:
A Meet / BBQ, obviously on a weekend day. I'll take location suggestions as well as food recommendations.
I would say that the meet location should have ample parking, shelter, and an on-site grill if possible. If not, I'll donate the use of my grill for the event if absolutely necessary.
Locations I have in mind at the moment: Parkersburg City Park, Williamstown Park (location of last meet was great), Civitan Park in Belpre, Masonic Park in Devola, and a few assorted public locations in and around Marietta.
Davis posted the "Favorite Hot Dog" thread, so I will leave the choice of Weeners up to him. :)
More input is needed, let's get this rolling folks.

What about North Bend State Park, or Mt. Wood?? They have LOTS of room, and plenty of parking! They also have a grill ususally.

North Bend is a great idea and a SUPER fun drive once you turn off 50 onto the road that takes you through cairo to North Bend. A great idea, however would be more of a cruise thing than a meet due to the 40+ minute drive.
Mountwood however, is not too far at all. Any other suggestions?
