View Full Version : Anyone tried the Skunk 2 or OBX intake manifold on a d serie

I've been looking into the MPFI swap for my DX to start moding my motor but i am just wondering if it would be better to get the skunk 2 intake manifold and Skunk 2 throttle body. or the OBX and Skunk 2 throttle body? Or just go with the stock for now. Figured this would be a good start before doing the Mini Me swap.
Thanks,

unless you have high compression or are boosting...find something else...

I honestly say, find some decent rings/pistons/rods and go n2o 8)

Pretty much the same holds true on a B series Skunk 2 Intake Mani. They pretty much dont make any power until you are revving higher then stock.

ok saved me about a hundred dollars. Anyone know where i can score a set of integra pistons so i can raise my compression when i do the mini me swap? Also let me know if anyone has a SOCH ZC head.

You dfo not want the teg pistons with a mini me it will be too high of compression. Use the intake mani off of a si.

I was hoping on the higher compression that will bring it to 12:1 compression + i was planning on the Skunk2 cam with AEM Cam gear to adjust.
Yeah SI or ZC either way on the intake manifold do they have diffrent bolt patterns?

The cam gear wont help you too much you are going to have detonation with high compression you will need a little better than pump gas. 12:1 might be a little low with this setup im thinking higher. You can always get thicker Head gaskets. Well wait after using a compression calc i got 12:1 with one setup but it matters what HG and head you are going to use 12:1 is still a little high for the street.

How in the world can use integra piston b-series on a d16 mini-me swap?

Because you do not know Hondas! The 1st gen teg came with a DOHC d16a1 bore sizes are the same as the later 1.5 and 1.6 SOHC dseries motors.

Maybe if someone would specify what generation it was that would help

Well in the Honda world when you are talking about a dseries motor and putting teg pistons in it there is only one answer.

you never know at some of the other forums that i have been on

I wish I could remember where I saw it, I think it was honda-tech.

This guy in cuba/puerta rico....was selling pistons from a geo tracker or something, that perfectly dropped in a d series, that were stock for that vehicle, forged and everything

set of 4= $100 bucks...if I run across it I will post it up...

everyone was buying them up, b/c it was such a huge deal.... 8)
