Just got the windows tinted...review

I just had the windows tinted by "the finishing touch/wizard of window tinting"

Very happy with how they look but my main issue is hopefully to cut down on the very hot heat on my way home from work. (even with AC on it gets warm in the car especially with the late afteroon sun setting)
It has a slight silver cast which I thought would look OK and not be "rice". Turns out pretty good on my Silver car.

I got the "high performance" $tint. (funny name for a tint) somehow I didn't notice my car going any faster as the name would suggest :lol: j/k.

I went with the 50% tint as I want to stay legal in Ohio and not get pulled over un-necessarily.

Guaranteed for life so hope it stays on.

How bad did they whack you for the tint and install? When I looked down at Ziebart's in Vienna for the SVX about a year ago they quoted about $300.

The tint law in Ohio is pure B.S. 50%? thats almost like a stock window no tint. i thought WV 35% was bad but i got away with 20% when i lived in ohio now i like that makes the AC work real good.

I usually have eric sydestricker do my tint at American Tinting. He usually cuts me a good deal. Did my civic all the way around in 35% Solargard for a very low price.

outlaw tinting did mine.. I'm about 2 steps below wv-legal i think..
only complaint I've got is they didnt have a big piece of tint to do the back glass, so they did it with the small rolls.. but they did a good job doing it..

That's who did mine. 35% all around with legality stickers. They did an excelent job for about 120 bucks.

Hopefully Kenny Cobb and the rest of them at Outlaw changed there brand of tint because their old stuff turned purple. :(

they offered me several tint options..
I went with something with solar guard I think..
so far, no purple..

the old cheap tint that you could buy at autozone or advanced would turn purple after a while..
and I think I read something one time about amonia based cleaners having something to do with changing the color of tint.. ..or maybe I dreamed that..:dunno:

I think what it really comes down to is.. you get what you pay for..

Ammonia based cleaners just kill tint its not good on plastic. The purple is caused by the cheap adhesive.

i live in the ohio area and i got my windows done 20% and i havent had a problem getting pulled over even tho the legal tint is 50% which you can hardly tell you have it. i got it done at American tinting, they also used solar guard( i think thats what everyone uses now). But AT didnt do a bad job besides the dirt he left under the tint(not washing fully b4 applying), But what can you do.... :cry:

yea i thought about it but twice the price.. i thought about getting a job there but thats off the subject.. when i get a different car i would go to him because thats place has a all good businessthat i have heard (FT), and also outlaw was a good place to go at a lower price...
