the first SS cobalt came in yesterday, i have to say the black with dark factory 18"s looks good, runs good to although redline is a little low in my opinion( 6,500rpm) superchared 205 horse, 5 spd. ,gears feel really solid.rides really smooth, handles pretty good, for no more turning than in did.factory pioneer sound system w/ 10" subwoofer

I kinda like the wing. And I'm really not that big on spoilers. (HA! Look at mine) But no, really I'm not. It's nice and suttle. Those things are pretty nice though for being a cavalier basically. But it's got balls!

yeah thats about how i feel, the wing i dont really care for mainly because it is right in your rear view when lookin out the back.
eh.. some of the bigger wings are cool
i like the one on the mazdaspeed and the mp3
type-r wings on the teg an rsx i like
evo wings are cool
i just dont like the looks of the one on the cobalt

hrm..
i say ditch the bowties front n rear cause they suck
actually just take off any and all badges you can find
lower it about 12 feet
paint the windows black
find a more subtle wing to put out back
an you would have a pretty nice lookin car

Not bad.
Although they built this to compete with the Srt-4. I feel there isn't much of a chance. Srt's despite being a "neon" as some would say, they are strong cars.
Must be for the people that can't afford the real version...just like the guys who buy civics.....

comes with 60,000 powertrain warranty, first year for chevy to do that,so if you blow the motor you can change pulleys back, take off the NOS, put the converter back on and have it replaced under warranty, lol
haha which is about how that would go down..
"shit, motor is toast.. quick, unbolt everything weve done to this car in the past week!"

Uhhhh I'd rather have a cobalt SS. GM > Ford
I took the Cobalt SS out today for a loooong test drive.. here is my review
Comes equipped w/short shifter which is nice, but it allmost has to because it has that damn reverse gear slidelock remeniscent of the older crapaliers. The slide lock feels weird when youre shifting cause it sits right below the shiftknob... a dif shiftknob may make a difference, but not a biggie
Seats are awesome, very comfy plus they have the racing seat feel to them while being leather "i heart leather". there is no center console which i think is flippin stupid.. makes for kind of an uncomftorable ride if youre goin on a long trip.. theres nowhere to put your right arm it just kinda hangs out. If i wanted that kinda discomfort id buy an older civic. The stereo system isnt bad, it does have an mp3 player which is cool, it's an all pioneer system with a sub however isnt excessively loud.. personally im not impressed with it.
The boost gauge is placed in a rather shitty position, it needed to be higher up on the pillar instead of down by the dash, made it hard to see.. i guess that it doesnt really matter, but stil..
There needs to be a shiftlight, cause in all honesty this car is so quiet even at redline you dont know its running. It pulls hard all the way to the rev-limiter, you hit it before you even know it. I dono how many times i had it banging off the limiter.. however, that meens if they do end up making some sort of aftermarket comp for it, the limiter can be raised which needs to be done anyhow. It hits the limiter at 6,400Rpm. And it pulls hard from about 2,100RPM to that 6,400 mark. IMO this motor could pull to 7k or more easily and still be making power while doing so.
It's rollin on 18's, and for being stock it doesnt handle all too bad. It does have some decent bodyroll to it i noticed while cruisin thru the traffic circle. But honestly for a stock vehicle.. especially something replacing the crapalier, NOT BAD!
Takeoff isnt too shabby, i launched it a few times underpowering it at about 1500RPM an lettin the boost takeover once it hit about 2100RPM.. it kept the wheels from spinning an let it kinda just glide up to speed til i hit 2nd.
Next takeoff attempt was of course, "lets dump the clutch at bout 4k an see what happens" Well.. it spun, alot.
Grabbing 2nd in this car? Good thing theres that 60k mile warranty.. when i shifted from 1st at allmost redline to 2nd it felt and sounded like the whole front end of the car was gona seperate from the rest of the body. If you pussy-shift like most ppl.. or if you.. [F/F] granny shift, and double clutch like you should [F/F] then youll be fine, but if youre hard on things like i am.. an bang gears.. yea, somethings gona shit itself quick.
All in all tho, not a bad car.. it's still what i consider to be an econobox with an overly sized pricetag, but in my eyes pretty much everything is overpriced these days..
If youre lookin for a domestic econobox i would buy it over anything else out there.. but in no way shape or form would i compare this car with the likes of the EVO.
The SS is to Cobalt what the SRT4 is to the Neon, it's still a polished turd with forced induction.. It would make a cool chic car but for any self respecting male to go out and buy one is absurd

lol...yeah, any self respecting man would go out and buy a fox body Mustang..
The review sounds good. FYI, that slide lock still comes on all sorts of interesting cars, not just old Cavaliers. The higher the boost gauge is on the pillar, the more it gets in the way of what you should actually be looking at. If the stereo isn't "excessively loud," wouldn't that mean it was loud enough? I'm guessing you were looking for something more fitting to Vin Diesel lol. My advice to you would be to stop trying to stare at the boost gauge and watch the tach before you destroy someone's car before they even get to buy it. Oh, and it won't be someone who decided to buy it over an Evo, either, as the two cars are nowhere near the same category and the Evo costs 33% more. Everyone wonders why domestics don't last as long...it's probably because some jackhole drove the sh!t out of it before it was broken in with no intentions of ever owning it. That guy should get to take a long test drive in your Mustang.
Other than that, nice write-up.

did i stutter?
*taps mic* is this thing on?
i dono if you received the memo or not.. apparently you didnt tho
cavaliers, sunfires, neons, are chic cars
maybe you are less 'suburban' and are open to gay rights ect.
i however.. am not driving a chic car.. and last time i checked a fox isnt one
whch also brings me to..
i didnt rip on anything but the SS
and if im not mistaken you dont own one correct?
so why are you rippin on my mustang?
if it was a pile of shit that'd be one thing.. but it outperforms this SS in every aspect except gas mileage.. so you sir can fukc right the hell off

Did i say it DIDNT come in other cars? no, nor do i really care.. the cavy was mentioned because thats basically what this car is.. a replacement for the cavalier
The higher the boost gauge is on the pillar, the more it gets in the way of what you should actually be looking at.
At the end of me saying that, I also said "i guess it doesnt really matter"
but i do like to have gauges in somewhat clear sight.
If the stereo isn't "excessively loud," wouldn't that mean it was loud enough? I'm guessing you were looking for something more fitting to Vin Diesel lol.
no idiot, im not looking for concerthall loudness.. but i have one 10" sub and six soundstream speakers in my car and it wails.. the factory setup could of been a tad nicer. even the mach460 setup in the mustangs sounds better than this one does..

My advise to you is to shut your fukcin mouth.. never have i said anything to/about you, nor resulted to calling you such things as a "jackhole" i didnt do anything the salsemen didnt do, and as far as buying it.. i didnt go just to go rape it, my friends dad is wanting it and he drives the same way we do.. i didnt do anything i wouldnt do if it werent my own, also rev limits ect. are there to keep you from blowing it. if its gona blow up from hitting the rev limiter a few times then do you really wana buy it? Im not some punk kid who went out intentionally trying to destroy the car .. Anything can be broken if you try to.
Joe if you lock this youre next.. lol

dono where he lives..
believe me thats the 1st thing that came to mind
i just find it pointless to start bitchin someone out for something that totally does not involve them.. like he took some sort of personal offence to it.
w/out the name calling, trashing "one of my cars.. i own many, whatta you got guy?" and pretty much bein a general assbag.. i would of been cool with his post

I drive a 1993 Grand Am GT that would get raped by that Mustang in anything except maybe around a tight course or through the slalom, and no I don't ever plan to purchase one of these things. My point was that it drives me nuts to hear about people going to dealerships and driving cars balls to the wall when they have like 26 miles on the odometer. You say that it's what the salemen do, but when I sold cars, no one EVER did anything like that except for customers, which still only happened to me twice, and both were jackholes. As for chick cars (chic is pronounced "sheek" and is a word for gay dudes and women...you're thinking of the 80's brand of girls' jeans), I have seen a whole lot of females driving fox body Mustangs (and Grand Am's, too, of course). I made the Vin Diesel remark because that's the first thing I picture when I think of a big stereo. A lot of the cars that I would buy, if I could afford them, don't come with a radio at all. Most people don't buy a performance car because it has a bangin' stereo.
My point was that a lot of the stuff you mentioned shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not you would purchase a specific car. As long as you post your opinions, I will post mine. You try and try and try to piss people off on here, but as soon as I say something you get your panties into a wad. My suggestion would be to either ease up or stop going around trying to offend people, especially if you're so easily offended. The "lol's" in my post were there to show you that it was all in good fun, but apparently you overlooked that in a testosterone fit. If you still wanna jack me in the face, I'll give you my address.
*edit: I also drive a 2002 Subaru Legacy GT that probably couldn't even keep up with the Grand Am
i dont "try to piss ppl off on here"
if you see it as that maybe you should check who im messing with on those counts where you think i am.. 9 times out of 10 its all in good fun.
only 2 ppl on here i do not like is jchouse an that solarawhatever
oh an that slowrx7 kid..
me an jchouse settled our dif's long ago tho..
as far as the other two, i just genuinely dislike them, it has nothing to do with this page
as far as how did you put it "me gettin my panties in a wad"
and if you werent throwin names out there what you said wouldnt of pissed me off in the slightest.. i dono you, you dono me, dont throw out names an make presumptions. i dont get easily offended, i just hate complete stupidity whch you showed with your post
i posted some stuf that had to do with a car an you took personal offence to it.. that sounds like your problem not mine.
no the stereo isnt a selling point in a car, but i posted EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR THAT I THOUGHT OF
