I dont know when a peice of pipe and a filter bacame an "intake"
but somehow it just got adapted as one.. anyhow this is an actual intake from BBK.
i was perusing their new products an came across it, looks really nice

1 thing i have noticed with BBK is all companies make the HP claim of some stupid number like eleven-teen more horse power by slipping on this yello wireloom ect.
but BBK claims actual at the wheels dyno'd hp improvements.
how true it is well you never know.. but it does sound good

looks sharp.....i think it would look better if the logo was engraved but that is just my first thought w/o seeing it in person

i think the lettering is actually a higher part on the actual intake, if it's made like the mustang one then it's all 1 peice it isnt a plate/badge that they slap on. it just looks rather odd in the pics.

i just noticed also they have a used parts section.. i find that rather odd but eh, it's cool none the less

I was telling Cam earlier, but on my car, the best bang for the buck is the new Edlebrock Victor X intake mani's....

I have seen a few dynos on boosted cars of them adding 40-70whp....

Nothing but swapping intake mani's...

I know, I didn't beleive it, the guy who built my turbo manifold did the tests..

He lined up the following

Stock
Skunk2
Obx
Edlebrock.

He had the stock unit as is.

Then swapped the Skunk2, little gains.

Started to fit the obx and it's fitment was crap, so he tossed it...

Then went with the Edlebrock and he gained 70whp....

His car is also a built block, with tons of stuff, daily driven honda running 9.99's....

He is putting 600+ to the wheels, so he will see a bigger increase than Joe X out here on the street, he said I could expect @ minimum, 40whp..to me thats is crazy....

i have heard alot of ppl bitch about obx an how their products are garbage..

Skunk 2 does make great products, but is geared more for N/a apps...

The only thing that Obx makes that has been actually pretty good, beleive it or not, has been there Limited Slip Diff...

lol..

Most complex thing is there best seller...

Actually thinking of getting one...

Quaife...~$900 bones

Obx ~ $350 bucks...

Both LifeTime Warranty...

since this is going OT like everyhitng we ever post..
what's the widest wheels you can put on your car an still fit, 7" ?
also, if you start runnin a softer and or wider tire what kinda stress levels will the axles holdup to before things start breaking?

im looking into this building a boosted teg idea at all angles.. i wana know who what when where an why before i make any definate decisions.
after all, all the power in the world doesnt meen anyhting if you cant transfer it to the concrete

just looked them up on summit's site
you can get cast aluminum one for $339
or a polished one which looks cool imo for $469
which honestly is alot cheaper than i thought it was going to be
and apparently edelbrock makes a turbo kit which i was not aware of..
$3,900 for the complete si' kit
$3,400 for the ex kit

Is the BBK piece like the Eldebrock one and is embossed for additional injectors.

Jay.
Not sure what the widest wheel I can put on...need to check on that and get back to ya.

As far as axles, depends on your launches. Same guy with the 600+whp car on slicks is running stock axles....

He is going to upgrade before he goes any faster, he said he has pushed them enough...lol.

Dave,
The Edlebrock mani that comes with there kit has extra injectors in the mani, but the one you by as a standalone does not.

the kit looks exceptionally nice.. they didnt throw out any specific hp #'s by way of increase but as far as a complete no-nonsense kit it looks nice.
