I would like to be the first to welcome you on behalf of movFast. We are all a pretty tight knit group here. So if you don't mind, it would be nice if you would post up and introduce yourself. Let us know where you live, what you drive, where you work, hobbies...etc. Maybe even throw up a picture or two of your car in Show & Shine....

Again, glad to have you aboard.... 8)

I never made an introduction when I got here, so I'll do that now.

Thanks to Kurt, who sent me here from the CRX.org boards.

My name is Greg, and I'm currently living in Marietta. I have 8 years in the military, 6 of which was in the Marine Corps in Jacksonville, NC. I met my wife there, who was Marine Intelligence, and we have a daughter who will be 4 in October. I am a veteran of Desert Storm (enlisted towards the end of it, but that's what they call me), and Bosnia (ugh... -30 degrees, sleeping in the middle of a live mine field), along with 6 months of Mediterranean travel and several deployments abroad (my unit was the #1 most deployed unit in the Marine Corps).

I was planning on staying in the Corps longer, because it meant a lot to me, but 1 month before my reenlistment, my little brother was swapping out a tranny in a Storm that he had bought to toy with, and the jacks gave out, killing him. I moved back home to be with the family in February of 2000, and enlisted in the US Army Reserves over in Parkersburg to finish out my last 2 years.

For these 2 years, and I've been going to school, and just finished up my first degree for Computer Graphics. I founded an organization a year ago, The Mid-Ohio Valley Push for Digital Awareness (MOV-PDA), and we worked with the college to implement a new program in Computer Game Design, which goes live this fall. I'll be participating in that for my second degree, with hopes of establishing a software design firm here in Marietta. In my spare time (if you could call it that), I work on websites for contract, and own/run a few myself.

I had already attempted a business once, earlier this year, in downtown Marietta, but that resulted in my "partner" running off with my name, clientelle, and money. Lesson learned.

As the founder and President of the PDA, I also worked with the Governor's 3rd Frontier Project and Aurum IT out of Columbus, and in January of this year we were succesful in establishing 4 wireless hotspots around Marietta. We're currently working with WSCC in hosting the 2nd Annual Computer Game Design Conference this September. We have a few other projects going on, but the details are still sketchy at this time.

Auto wise, I've been in them for 25 years. I even bought my first car when I was 9, and have gone through 25-30 of them (which is only about 10% of my old man's history). Several were Volkswagens, as that is a family thing, and a few imports, to include a nice 85.5 Supra and 87 CRX (also had a 77 Triumph Spitfire MK4 Convertable, but never got it completed). I got into tuning the Supra and CRX in '97, which was about a year before the craze kicked in, but sold the Supra in '99 and shortly after the CRX... died? It's now sitting up on the old railroad tracks on 550, but I'd like to get it in the garage this winter for some play time.

Since then it's been a plethora of family vehicles and my 98 Ranger, which I finally paid off last March. Last week I was able to trade the truck off for a very clean 98 Impreza Sport Outback for the wife (wanted AWD for her, since she's from the South and scared of snow). We've put the house hunt on hold for a year or two, so I'm wanting to tweak hers out a little bit, and as I've mentioned in an earlier post, replace my Buick with something sportier. I feel that as long as it has 4 doors, it doesn't have to be a big boat to haul the girls around in.

I'm getting the bug, I guess you could say. I've been alienated from autos for a few years, and am itching to get back in them.

That should work for now. I'm glad you guys are here, and I'm thankful you'll have me.

Nice to meet you Greg... I graduated from WSCC's computer support program a few years back. I've kept up with the PDA's involvement with WSCC and the new wireless hotspots via the newspaper, good to see the progress. Are you working much with Dixie Stone or Ester Salem on the game design program?

As far as your CRX goes, is that the CRX sitting on 550 on the Barlow side of Tunnel behind dick tuttle's house (white-ish CRX sitting in the woods on what looks to be a railroad clearing)?

Actually, Laura Kerbyson (she's only been there 2 years, you may not know her) is running the game design program. Esther is sticking with the networking/IT stuff.

We built the house that Mr. Tuttle bought, but kept all the land behind it when it sold. Yes, that's the one.

I haven't really had a chance to test out the wife's car yet (she's been in NC), so depending on what is going on this weekend, and where y'all end up, I might try to come find you Saturday night, if only for a few minutes.

My name is Brandon Nutting. (haha funny last name)

I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Orlando, Florida when I was 1 year old. I grew up in Orlando and graduated and then moved to Columbus, Ohio to go to Ohio State.

I currently am a business major at Ohio State.

I am 6'2 210 lbs (a large white guy in a Honda weird huh?)

My hobbies are racing dirt bikes (although I sold mine now) and working on cars and hanging out and doing websites.

I am currently signed up to drive the Integra Type R Expo in 3 weeks.

I am a moderator on ClubSi.com which takes up a lot of time :)

I know a whole lots of misc stuff about cars and will usually be the first person to say "sure I will drive there and help you"

Most people when they first meet me dont like me because I speak my mind (search my posts on Automotiveforums.com hahaha) and I have a sarcastic attitude.

I was banned from OhioHondas.com because of this.

I have a 2000 Civic Si with a fully built LS VTEC. I have a SLEW of mods and I think they are all in another post.

I am currently dating a beautiful girl named Jill and we just moved in together here in Columbus.

My mom still lives in Orlando so I go back from time to time. I am currently unemployed but I just quit my job working at Petco.

I have 2 cats, 3 leopard gekos, and a rabbit.

I think that about sums up my life.

I dont plan to keep my Si for the rest of my life. My dream car is really an Is300 with a Turbo and I may pick one up here shortly but who knows. Feel free to PM me or IM me anytime with questions or if you need help I am more then happy to drive wherever if I have a place to stay.

ALSO come to the Big Ohio Meet this weekend in Columbus, you can crash at my house...

I fully support WVU and Marshall, but the Buckeyes are my heart and soul, and as a conference, it doesn't get any better/tougher than the Big 10.

That's not going to happen. From what I understand, the tickets are pretty much sold out for the next several years. There are some seats in reservation, but those are used for special occasion (guests, etc). I'm told, though, that there are a few box seats available through a contribution of at least $1 Million US, or naming the Ohio State University as beneficiary of your life insurance policy of $1 Million +....
