Road trip? Set up a touring/poker-run style course. Get on Mapquest and pick out locations like the Steak-N-Shake in Cambridge, then maybe head over to Pittsburg, etc. You could make it a 1 day thing, or find a good place to stop for the night and get hotels (again, using Mapquest or even an old map (which I prefer)), making it a 2-day thing.
It could be the kind of trip where you're just enjoying the scenery and using the checkpoints as congregation, or you could spend less time in the seat and find locations that have something to offer (landmark, or a park that you could spend an hour walking around, like Hocking Hills).

Later this week I'll outline a small sample course, and see what you guys think. I'll try to include all the details, like fuel stops, total miliage, approximate fuel costs, etc.

poker run would be a cool.. is anyone familar with how an actual poker run is handled?.. i've got biker friends who run them all the time, but i've never stopped to ask exactly how its handled.. they are usually doing them for charity..

I didn't necessarilly mean to suggest that it would be like a poker run, just using that as an example, because there would be stops and checkpoints every so often, to make sure we're all together.
