I am considering planning some back road semi-agressive driving. I have quite a few roads picked out and we could probably make it a whole day event if wanted. The roads have lots of twist, some even on banked turns, and many straights. I went out on them some Sunday and there didnt seem to be a whole lot of traffic, so we shouldnt have to worry about too many farm trucks. :D

What I would like to know is how many people would be interested, when you would like to do it, and how long of a drive would you like to do?

Yes interested. We have brought this up a couple months ago (however its worth talking bout again) and people have given out their favorites roads.

Mine:

St. Rt. 26

St .rt. 339 see linky for vid on this road: http://skuttle.com/videos/back%20road%20reinmeister.wmv

rt. 676

Rt 530 (behind Lowell)

I'd suggest a half day thing...4-6 hrs with a stop for lunch somewhere.
AS long as we are safe and have fun it would be a good event. When people crash into things, die or get speeding tickets, it ruins the day.

I say, Yea, let's do it!

Nice avatar! Are those HID "hi-beams" ?

I use to live 10 miles out RT. 26 by Biehls store. I can drive that road blindfolded. (well...)

I've been about 15 miles past that. We can make a cool loop and come out New Mat or loop back and take some other roads back toward Marietta.

We can take it clear out to Woodsfield if we wanted to. There are a boat load of diffrent roads we could take, I will just scout sometime this week(im on midnights so I have days to do it) and try to find us a good route.

I'm in. You scout and come up with a little map and schedule a date and we will be there. Maybe a stop off point for a bathroom break and a drink or two.

Lets make it happen!! 8)

I will probably go scouting Wednesday. :D Also if anyone would like to go with me route hunting please do so. I dont want to tailor it to my tastes alone I would like some other input.

I will try to plan it for 3-4 hours with a few stops for the women to go to the bathroom(adam :D ).

By the way adam when you say drinks do you mean alcohol or non alcohol, so I dont have us a stop at the local tavern.

I have been helping Joe with his car today, and hopefully we can get it back together and running tomorrow.

lol...I like to get out often to stretch my legs....sorry....

I don't think it would be proper for us to stop @ a tavern, worst case scenerio that something awful happens and we are stopped, we don't need the officer smelling alcohol on our breath....lol...

So a gas station would be fine for example...grab a gatorade/pop/tea etc.... 8)

Half of you are not old enough to walk into a Tavern. Yeah kickin back a few tall boys and driving on a back road is asking for trouble that is out of the question.

I didnt think alcohol but I thought I would ask to be sure.

I think that their are a lot of those public camp grounds along 26 so if we wanted to we could even take a cooler or what not with water and stuff in it and stop at a camp ground picnic area.

I will just have to see what I can uncover Wed.

SR 26 Definately. I've been all the way out to newport on those roads. No discussions or tales of illegal street racing(there are safe, legal venues for racing... don't be an idiot). Davis I believe I know who you are, you drive a silver STi right? The first time i saw you if im right, you were passing taco bell as i was pulling out in a big red 2500 Dodge Ram Truck and pulled up next to you hoping you'd take off. Then the second time you were inside eating at taco bell, and I was with a buncha HS kids and I said somethin if i'm right.

You should join us sometime. Auto-x is coming up here soon, and I think we are gonna make another trek to the 1/8th here soon.

Btw....what do you drive? 8)

I drive a 1990 Jeep Cherokee, but my father drives a 1973 Dodge Challenger R/T w/a 528 Magnum Big Block. He does 5.30's @ KVD & 9.60's+ @ Nat'l Trail. I'd be glad to join in sometime permitting I dont have soccer.

The reason im here, is cuz of your car actually lol. UberDSM saw it sitting in Pburg and called and said there was an Si with a FMIC, and it's the first one i've ever heard of around here so i figured i'd check the site out.

Yeah will def. get some pics of the challenger up asap. He's headed to Pacemakers this saturday, camping out over nite, then headed to Nat'l Trail Sunday morn. So hopefully when he gets back the car will be at the house so i'll snag some pics.
