about how big is 400,000 acres?? what would it compare to???

Well a plot of 1ac equals out to be 209sq ft.
So 400,000ac, would ammount to 83,600,000sq ft.
To give you a rough mental/visual aid, I went to the Moundsville Prison Tour last night http://www.wvpentours.com/
and the Prison is sitting on a 10ac lot.

If my math is a tad off feel free to correct me.. it's still early.

Um... no. One square acre is about 209ft X 209ft.... which is 43,560 square feet.

Yea that sounds a lil more correct. I just read this an was like wtf was I thinking. Never guess I deal with this stuff on a daily basis..

Dude... Moundsville was one of the worst haunted houses I've ever witnessed. I want to do the day tour sometime, but I'll never waste my money on the night crap again.

Pretty close, Davis. I think Pendleton's total coverage (base, terrain, substations, etc) encompasses about 350k acres.

i am talking about my next duty station wich will be Ft. Lewis washington. thats about how big the base is.
