So I'm assuming your car runs now? If not why did you buy new brakes/rotors if it hasn't been fixed yet?

You will find that the cheaper organic pads are worthless. I went that route and with the abnormal rotors, it chewes them up very quickly...even though they may be free, its not worth the hassle of every year swapping them out. Next time they need replaced, spend a few more bucks and get a good quality pad.....b/c not all pads are created equal. 8)

it won't tear up my new rotors will it?

no, he means tearing up your pads.
You said you'll just go get new ones if they wear out, where he said getting new ones all the time will get tiring because they won't last very long.
I mean honestly how often do you want to replace your pads. Granted, it's not that hard, butt it's time consuming, and a pain in the ass to do it more than once a year.

I knew what he was saying i was just wondering if crappy pads would tear up the Rotors.. But yah.. i don't care to change them all the time it only took me about 30mins.. which is nothing when you have time  The only thing that i don't want is all that break dust going on the wheels- But i guess you will have that.....Free comes at a price :?

Many cheap pads = DUST....
Higher end pads = better stopping power/less dust. 8)

endless brake pads here....cost around 100-150 depending on where you find them...but you can get aem, which are good for like 40-80 bucks depending on the application....but yeah 16 dollar autozone=junk....spend good money on rotors might as well throw down for the good pads even if you gotta wait for the $$$ to buy the more expensive pads....
I never bought rotors...but thats something for me to buy this winter....gonna possibly be working on putting an LS/VTEC in my 95 hatchback here in the next few months....i will have the GSR head...and i think I have found a b18 block...anyone wanna help?

Joe, glad to see you upgrade your brakes before you start modding your suspension and engine. Like I have said before, it is often overlooked by many people.

my car is not running yet either...but I bought the 8psi pulley upgrade and injectors/fuel rail/urethane motor mount inserts...that ok...or should I send them back and wait until it is running?
maybe joe is waiting on parts to come in to get his car running, and in the mean time wanted to do the brakes while it was down..

There is nothing wrong with getting/installing parts while your car is down. He was wondering why he would be buying parts that weren't fixing his car since its still down. 8)

my experiences with lifetime brake pads are that they seem to harder on the rotors than non lifetime pads..
