My Supra developed a leaky head gasket and was leaking oil. I never had coolant and oil cross-mix, and never lost compression. Oil would simply leak from the back of the head when the engine was @ RPM's going down the interstate etc.

I'm having the following replaced at the same time/along with the head gasket:

Front Main Seal[/*:m:decd3]
Front Crank Seal (in the Timing Cover, behind crank pulley)[/*:m:decd3]
Front Timing Cover[/*:m:decd3]
Timing Belt[/*:m:decd3]
Cam Tower Gaskets[/*:m:decd3]
Valve Cover Gaskets[/*:m:decd3]
Intake Manifold Gasket[/*:m:decd3]
Exhaust Manifold Gasket[/*:m:decd3]

I should have my car back by the end of Next week (around the 6th or so)... I want to Auto-X on the 15th.

My questions are these, given the very fresh state of the head gasket, will 1 week of daily-driving be enough to "break-in" the gaskets?

Is there a general break-in procedure for head gaskets (I'm personally not aware of any, but I want to take all precautions possible so I can get 20 years out of this gasket just like I did with the stock one).

Do you think it foolish/dangerous to Auto-X with a week old HG?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Iv known people to just run the piss out of them the same day they put them on so a week should be plenty of time. Your not working out rings or anything I couldn't see what could go wrong.

Sometimes head studs require retorqueing after so many heat cycles, but other than that, I've never heard of any break in procedure for head gaskets.
