After almost 3 years bikeless i gave in to the desire to own a bike again.

Just for a little background. I had previously owned a 95 CBR 600; a bike I was never comfortable with. It was a nice bike but there was something about it that never meshed with me.

Anyway, I purchased a 2001 Kawasaki ZRX 1200R yesterday. 1164cc engine with more power and torque then I'll ever need. It has a more comfortable upright seating position then the CBR thusly I feel much more comfortable on this bike dispite being heavier and much more powerful.

Once you get in the 1200+ cc range they become more of a sport/touring bike vs. a supersport bike. Alot more comfortable to ride. Very nice bike. I see it appears ot have a full muzzy sistem on it, anything else done to it, or plans to do anything else?

On a similar note, Iron Pony has a new store in c-bus an they stock tires upon tires. You can go there and get them cheaper than anywhere I have seen to order them from. Also they keep alot of parts in stock as well. It's an old super k-mart that has been turned into a bike store, to give yu an example of just how big the place is.

Ha, not any time soon.

i like the z1000 personally.

That’s a sharp looking bike. A bit more modern looking then what I was in the market for though. Considering I can’t find the ZRX on Kawasaki’s site anymore the Z1000 must be its replacement.

It has a full Muzzy Exhaust system, frame and tail sliders and braided steel lines. Aside those, its stock. Presently I don’t have any other plans for it aside ride it. While I am much more comfortable with this bike then the CBR, I don’t want to mess with it too much before I get used to it. That and I am not really all that sure how truly comfortable I am with this bike…give me more time and I may change my mind ;)

Naw, man, I got the thing for it, we just gotta strap a leaf blower onto the intake, give it like 5,000,000 more HP

No doubt yo~

I'm gonna yank that Kawasaki crap engine and swap in a CRVTEC ;)

I think it will do just fine as it is.

I actually seen that done, sorta..
Jackass on a 2 stroke KX125 rigged up a hair dryer and a custom fabbed intake pipe to the carb and a long extension cord. Ran like hell.. til he ran out of cord. The motor received a prescheduled rebuild

There really isnt much more you can do w/out spending alot of cash. Braided brake lines are awesome, makes them about 2x as touchy. Waffle rotors would prob be the next thing I bought.
What kind of tires is it wearin?

I'm not a big fan of the whole "naked" look, but it's a real nice bike. I'd take one in a heartbeat.

What kind of tires is it wearin?

Finally got back up to the house and messed with the bike some today. I would have liked to have taken it for a ride but the weather wasn't agreeble.

Anyway, I adjusted the headlight and checked out the tires. They are:

Front: Michelin Radial Pilot Road in 120/70ZR17
Rear: Metzeler MEZ4A in 180/55ZR17 (73W)

The front tire needs replaced and the rear is pretty new so I intend to just match the tires.
