Hey guys, just keeping you updated on my what ive been up to this winter. I figured I would make a post letting you know, that you wont be seeing the Evo for a while because I just got another vehicle (daily driver), and the Evo will be in the garage for a while. The Mustang is in excellent condition, with absolutely no dings and minor scratches (75,000 miles), and the paint is in way better condition than my Evo.
Some stats on the car:
1999 Mustang GT (35th Aniv. Edition)
5 speed
Metallic Blue
Mods - 3.73 gears & Mach 1 suspension (& new brakes)
^ thats pretty much it for now... I picked it up b/c I got a good deal on it, being that its the middle of winter. We really hadnt had a bad winter so I decided that I could get through winter with this thing... I would be lying if I told you I would keep it stock... The car as it sits is suprisingly fast for a stock vehicle, and it has room for growth as well. I have to be somewhat concervative on what I do to the car, b/c its going to be the daily driver. Anyway just thought I would let you guys know...
As promised :p

*Also can somebody help me out w/picking an exhaust for this thing... I have absolutely no idea what the difference b/t an H pipe and a X pipe would make on the car...and what brand to get??? I am limited on funds, so nothing too pricey, just performance oriented with cost in mind...*
Minor performance differences between the x-pipe and the h-pipe, a slight more with the x-pipe because of obvious reasons. However the h-pipe will produce a more throaty deep sound an the x-pipe will have more of a scream to it. As far as brands I would be a liar if I said all were created equal, but they are damn similar. Honestly just pick up a summit mag an start browsing. There's a whole section for nothing but mustangs.

By track day I assume you mean drag, not autoX... But hells ya! You have to bring the T/A and we will line em up. I actually want to try my hand @ autoX w/ it, just to see how difficult the car is to control coming out of a turn.
& Jay, I think I will go X pipe then, by how you describe it. Also has anybody had any experience w/ a certain brand and were either impressed or not???

Magnaflow and O/R X pipe
FlowTech X-Terminator Off-Road X-Pipes
Crossover Pipe, X-Pipe, Steel, Natural, Fits Full-Length Header, 3 in. Diameter, Ford, Mustang, 4.6L, Kit
$102.99
Same brand I had on my car cept I had the h-pipe instead of the x-pipe. It was made nice plus you cant bitch about the price it's cheap as hell especially for 3". You may have to get a 2 1/2" if youre going to use the stock catback tho..
You gettin a catback an headers?

I am going long-tube headers, into an x-pipe then finish it off w/magnaflow catback...does that sound like a good combo?

Long tube's are badass, if im not mistaken however you will have to lift the motor to get them on. Not 100% sure on that, you may wana check into it, or I will later when I get bored lol. If youre gona go w/magnaflow catback get the one that comes w/warlock's. If you have long tubes, x-pipe, an follow up the rear w/warlocks I can garuntee it'll sound amazing. Those mufflers have an insane wicked sound. Not real loud at idel, just a good rumble, but when you open it up damn. They scream. They dont have that metallic sound to them either, theyre more of a roar if that makes sense.

He wasn't banned........ just removed temporarily,
And the stang is def. nice Jordan, personally I'm a flowmaster fan, very nice sound, decent price, but I get most of my exhuast stuff custom made at a shop up in Caldwell. Action Performance Exhuast. The guys up there are insane at building stuff, and it's always rock solid. I feel it's well worth the drive up there. If you want the number shoot me a pm. I need to get off my lazy butt and have them build my H-pipe, just being stingy right now.

You can buy complete kits to make your own h-pipe or x-pipe thru summit. My Dad had a 69' RS w/x-pipe. It was one of those kits fabbed together. Alltho just getting the X peice an having pipe ran would be alot better. Less joints and less potential exhaust leaks

Yeh well I still have the Evo, so I am still in the import scene as well :) When I was thinking about a thread title I was thinking of "gone to the dark side"... What car are you driving now??? I am thinking about getting some knock off 17" Cobra R rims (black inside w/a polished lip)...something like 10.5" in the rear... I am going to go the same look as the evo (black/blue)... I like cars that are sleek and simply stylish.

The Evo hasnt been on the street in over 2 months... I go start it up every once in a while and check to make sure everything is operating properly...The mustang has been a good car, although I still really want a 2g turbo eclipse..I can always buy 1 later on...
I was suprised to see that was you and jesse* in that eclipse... Um, as far as the Evo is concerned, nothing has been done to it......yet... , to tell you the truth, I am kinda @ a cross roads as to what exactly I want it to be (autoX, road course, drag...etc). If they were on the lip and the spike screws used on drag cars to keep the rubber from slipping on the rim then that would be cool. But it appears those "rivets", which I bet on close inspection are actually either Torq's or Allen-Heads (whether fake or real I donno),... I bet as the above poster said the rivets aren't functional...
