Alright, so I fell victim to Garbage Trendz a year ago or so, and I've almost removed every bastardization I did to my car with stuff I bought from them. My tires and rims are the next to go. I had these heavy, shitty (but they looked alright) MRS 107 17" rims wrapped in Hankook Ventus HR-II (not sure of the sizing or stuff like that). I think I'm going to be getting some 16" Rotas through a group buy over at FocalJet, and I'll probably go for some 205/50/16 tires. My question is: what brand/model tire should I go for? I plan to only use them during the warmer weather because I still have a good set of all-seasons for the winter. I don't think I'll be autocrossing any, but I would like to have something with some good grip just in case I do catch the bug later on (and for the pike....). What would you guys reccommend and what are your opinions on what tires to get/stay away from, etc.?

nitto 450's for the price, and they last forever....or Nitto Neo-Gens or Yokohama Parada 2's if ya wanna get a lil more expensive. Kumhos arent bad either (depends on which ones you get)

Cool, I'll check those out. I was thinking the Neo-Gens looked pretty good, but I'm afraid of the price, haha. Thanks for the help.

What's your budget on a set of tires?

How long do you want them to last? miles?

How sticky do u like your tires and how hard are you in your driving style.

Well, my budget is pretty small. I basically have a couple hundred right now, and whatever I get out of selling my current setup. I'd kind of like them to last at least until I'm out of college, so four years? I don't know how long tires normally last, so it's hard for me to say. I'd like my tires to be stickier than my Hankooks now. I haven't had any other tires, so I really don't know how sticky is sticky, haha. As far as driving style, I'll randomly get the urge to "speed" (I use that lightly) out the Pike/Route 31 and Glendale Drive or whatever it's called in Marietta.

I highly doubt that you will be able to get a decent "sticky" tire that will last for 4 years, even though they will only be on for the summer. The best advice I could give you is to go to The Tire Rack and check out tires in your size and price range. They also have a reviews area so you can get some consumer input on your choices.

Being I wasnt too modded to break them loose. By looking at your little descript in your signature you would prolly do just as well with them.

 about the whole Garbage Trendz thing, I went looking for rims there and they told me it wouldn't cost less than $1100 for the package I wanted. I got em online for $850. I went with some Kumho Ecsta's, they don't do too bad in weather, and don't cost much, and don't grip too bad.

Also, I notice Garage Trendz does NOTHING themselves. They just hire people to do stuff for them. I asked about getting my windows tinted and they said they hadta wait until they guy they had do the tint came in... doesn't that defeat the purpose of the place? All they do is jack up the price by about $200 for everything, and pay someone else to do it.

I know a person that swears Garbage Trendz is the best thing to happen in the MOV. He bought an APC intake for $110. I bought a ractive one online for $6, even though ractive isn't the best brand out there, it still shows that Garbage Trendz jack their prices way up. I told him today that people on the forum hate it and he's like "WHY ITS SO AWESOME" I called him a dumbass. Ever since they gave me an estimate that was abot $200 higher than it should've been, I never even attempted to buy anything from them.

Im guessing this guy you speak of is between the ages of 16-19, prob drives a Cavalier or something very similar, has little to no friends and or self esteem, and thinks all the cars that roll out of Garbage Friendz are cool. Am I right?
