U.S. Drift had an event as part of the NASA National Championships at Mid-Ohio last weekend. Unfortunately, I was busy working Sunday, so they were the only session I got to shoot.

Drifting's still a bit silly, but Robbie and I had fun watching them.

"Hey, you're drifting the wrong end!"

I'm actually much more impressed with it, after seeing some talented people doing it.

It takes some skill and a hefty set of stones to carry a drift over the hill in the Esses at Mid-Ohio, while modulating the throttle enough to not spin over the crest.

Where these people better than the same two Silvias and that one Corolla they always have during the EMCO gears classic/Triple crown tuner challenge?

Are those your pics?

If so, hella nice camera and skills.

Drifting isn't my thing either, but I give respect to those that can do it, and do it well.

Does this lifestyle include breaking and entering?

Nice pics, JD... looks like a fun time. Sorry I missed it, I was hoping to get to go with Robbie, but it just wasn't good timing.

JDE, not to go too OT, but I noticed in your location you live near Big Butter Jesus... this is the same as Touchdown Jesus, right? 60 feet tall with arms outstretched?

You've heard the Haywood Banks song about big butter jesus, right?

Yep, Kodak DX6490 point & shoot.

Not so much my skills as leaving it in auto with low light. Tends to capture the speed better than in bright sunlight.

Yep yep. We're a little behind the rest area on the southbound side just south of that exit.

Is there a website somewhere that I could view more pics from the event?

Don't see any U.S. Drift, but here's a ton from the event in general...
