Well yesterday I had a pretty bad day. It rained pretty bad as you all know in the morning and I parked my car in the yard. So I wake up and go out to leave to go to school and I more or less slide down my yard....then I drove over to the flat in our yard thinking I would get more traction and I got stuck! not just stuck, barried! I didn't even give it much gas it just kinda sunk. so we worked for 4-5 hours on getting it out and my yard is ruined... but to get to what i wanted to say is that my car is hesitating when I start in first I have to give it alot of gas for it to move like normal, and I just wanted to know what everone thought, Its like that for all of the gears. So what do you guys think it is?

Hmm hesitation at the bottom of the throttle range across all gears.
If it's missing it might have jumped a tooth in timing. I can't guess much beyond that I'm not an expert in engine diagnostics. Potentially a vacuum leak/vacuum advance issue?

So how would I go about checking it, just go to the dealer or what? But the only thing about the dealer is that they will give you a outrageous price for just checking it but it might be worth it in the long run. the only way it might have done that was when I was spinning out trying to get it out of the mud the highest I had it was upto 5grand I wouldn't push it any further then that, that was bad enough.

3.0?
Id have to go with rusty in saying your timing is off (but again like rusty said, I cant be sure with descriptions on the internet). How many miles on the engine?

I kinda feel like a big idiot...but all that was wrong was the clutch, it was crappy when I got it and I really didn't know, but thats what needed replaced. $700 :?
I fail to see how a clutch causes hesitation.. but ok. Glad ya got it fixed.
An wtf kinda clutch did you buy for $700

Slippin' all the time. Pressure plate may not have been strong enough, etc.

A guy did it for me in my home town, he quit his job a berdines in marietta for 25 years and started his own business in town (St.Marys). I'm not sure what kind of clutch it is, I think it is stock. I saw the old clutch and it was horrible, I haven't had the car very long, like a month and he said I just put the icing on the cake when I got it hung up. and yeah the pressure plate was warped... :?

You got ripped off.
I am sure one of the all "mechanics" on this site could have helped.

Unless there is a company called "Stage 1" that makes quality clutches, saying you've got a stage 1 clutch doesn't really tell us much. The term "stage 1" should be used as a relative term. Such as... "my car is a stage 3 Callaway Corvette C5" or "my car is a stage 4 Buschur 1G DSM." Honestly, I don't like refering to "stages" at all.
BTW... My car is a Stage 42 Nelson Evo... lol

your everyday clutch kit prolly costs around 150-200 dollars. Unless he had a hell of a time putting it in, he ripped you.
No mattere the make "Stage 1" usually reffers to a mild street/strip clutch. Usually with 15%-25% more holding capacity. I think just about every "ebay clutch assembly" is the same any more. Honestly though I dont see anything wrong with a cheap ebay clutch. Channell had one in his CRX an it worked great. I had one in both Civic's an they worked great.
Stage 1 clutch is a term like having a Stage 1 cam. Alltho there is bound to be a slight difference in dif make's idea of a Stage 1 it's still going to be about the same.

actually if you check shop prices, clutch jobs around the area run $400-$600, so it's not a terrible rip, aside from the fact that they're all ripping everyone off, but, that's my .02. Putting in a clutch can seem intimidating, but, it's really not too difficult assuming you have space, a jack (preferably a floor jack), jack stands, a block of wood, and a socket set. I know by the final clutch me and Kurt put in a certain red GSR we could do it in a couple hours (mostly joking, not working), and could almost sleep during the process.
And Robbie, I have a stage -55 Prelude, beat that!
