Will dsm injectors work on a civic??
yes there the cheaper way to get 450cc but depending on the civic some needed a resistor box to work

its a 94 dx 1.5 non vtec, does it need a resistor box? If so where can i get one?

I sure hope they do I have been using dsm 450s for a while now.

You might want to double check, but I believe the resistor box only adds 10 ohms of resistance per injector, the box came off of hondas orginally, and you can get them off of junkyard cars for fairly cheap. In the end, if you wanted, you can pick up in line resistors from radio shaft and solder them in place, then it's nice and neat, and about .40 in cost.

imo a resistor box is only like 5-10 bucks and it looks way cleaner as you don't have four giant resistors wrapped in electrical tape laying on the fuel rail.

what kinda resistor are you talking about, I've seen tons of 10ohm that are the same circumfrence as a piece of 8-10 gauge wire?

They need to be 10 watt 10 ohm resistors, if you get them from radio shack, they look like this

i really dont know much about this... What hondas did the box come on? Where on the car is it, what does it look like, etc....

couldn't agree more

Please tell me you are not putting dsm injectors on a stock 1.5 honda just because you got a good deal on a set of injectors.. It isnt going to help you out any.

If anything it will make it less reliable, am I right Jay?

no its not its a slow honda
A stock 1.5 with bigger injectors will still be a slow Honda
slowcavy95

it is not going to just be a stock honda with bigger injectors, i would not waste my time with that. I have a few things in the garage ready to go on, just waiting for taxes to come back to order parts to finish it.

Start with selling the heavy 4dr 1.5 model and buying a 2dr ex. with a 1.6.
You can polish a turd, you can throw peanuts on it, but it takes alot of money to make one fast
slowcavy95
02-09-2007, 08:41 AM
im really not looking to try to make it real fast, i just want it to actually be able to go up hills without downshifting, i probably will sell it when it is done, until then i am just gonna keep it, after all, it is one of few cars in this area that actually has a painted body kit.

Yea, i am back there now, i was working somewhere else but i oculdnt do that and go back to school, plus that job really sucked so i am gonna start back at rally's tomorrow :?
Rally's is open like what, 3 hours a day?

where is a good place to get it?

pgmfi.org
Read and learn

03-18-2007, 01:08 AM
i was just looking through some other forums and found this http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=25_37&products_id=42 would this be good to get, i dont know much about this obviously.
daveb91
03-18-2007, 01:48 AM
yeah thats why I said http://www.pgmfi.org read and learn. The chip kit is only the beginning then you will have to program and tune.
Also try http://www.xenocron.com
slowcavy95
03-18-2007, 03:08 PM
isn't this one http://www.moates.net/product_info.php? ... ucts_id=42 (http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=25_37&products_id=42) basically the same as this one http://www.xenocron.com/ ? only a lot cheaper?
daveb91
03-18-2007, 03:52 PM
If you mean just the chipping kit then yes they are similiar. But the link to xenocron you posted is a package. $410. I still dont understand your need for 450s.
slowcavy95
03-18-2007, 07:02 PM
all i would really need would be the chipping kit wouldnt it? Doesnt whoever i have tune it deal with the rest?
daveb91
03-19-2007, 06:22 AM
I guess so your gonna chip the ecu yourself?? Take it from someone who has done it its a pain in the ASS. Since you are running a stock motor xenocron could probably put the stock maps on a chip set for 450 DSMs. But I still dont understand the inj upgrade it will run the same.
Chaos_cb7
03-19-2007, 11:40 AM
http://www.phearable.net/ sells chipping kits with pretuned chips. This is where i got mine but i had to get a p28 also so i just got there already chipped ecu.

I thought he was going boost?, however I do agree chipping something yourself is not worth saving the 50-60 bucks to have someone else do it. It is a huge pain in the ass/time consuming job....

That was gonna be next question, i wasnt really planning on doing it myself anyway tho..

So i would need the "Chipped obd1 non-vtec ecu" wouldnt I? it is a 94 non vtec i just wanna make sure before i get it, that sounds like my best bet tho....

getting the "pretuned" chip is only good when are stock if you change your setup the chip is no good.

03-19-2007, 05:45 PM
well i guess that is no good for me then....
daveb91
03-19-2007, 06:14 PM
You could redo the chip everytime? But I wouldnt do this until you had the mods to support it.
Get all the shit done to it then have a chip burned.. it stil isnt going to be precise like a dynotune will be but it will get you in the ballpark. Alot of DSM'ers use keydiver chip's to support their mods so theyre safe til they make it to go get a tune.
slowcavy95
03-19-2007, 07:02 PM
that is a good idea, its not like i am going all out anyway, i could understand if i was dropping a few grand in it... You can tell them what all you have done and they will ballpark it for you, i just read up on it a little more.
Chaos_cb7
03-20-2007, 01:09 AM
yea the chip wont be perfect that they give you since every car is different but there known to get damn near close and there are some people that never change the one they get, but either way it will at least give you a tune that you can drive on until you get it tuned.

does anyone on here know where i can find a good wright up on how to put this stupid resistor box on? i have found a couple but they werent very helpful...

I'm assuming you searched on honda-tech.
Kurt_W
04-02-2007, 11:38 AM
Removing one is as easy as pulling the appropriate wire out out of the resistor box plug then inserting that plug into the "multi-ground" plug (the one with all the yellow/black wires that goes back to the ECU - thought there may be a wire going to the O2 sensor so you may want to be wary of that) and changing the injector plugs therefore I would say installing one would be just as easy.
