Looks good. You clearcoat em?
If ya keep them clean the paint will last longer. Brake dust kills it

the previous owner of mine didnt prep it all that good and its chipping. Hopefully you just didnt spray it on there without prepping...

I didnt clear them. I was going to, but I didnt know if the clear would flake off because of the high tempature. I sanded each of them before I started, so hopefully it works for a while. I could always paint them again next year if they fade out. Ill add some cross/drilled rotors this summer. I think that will help

Yea there's no way to keep them perfect lookin unless they were powdercoated. If they get ratty lookin shoot them with more paint lol. Looks good.

ShaneBell

No I havent bought any springs yet. Iam still debating on weather or not to buy the cheap one's. the Tein S knockoffs are a 2 inch drop. Ill probabely buy those, but Iam scared of having a uneven ride height. Ill be getting springs next though...

Or he could've done it the Garbage Trendz way: Take the wheels off, and just spray the general area with the paint. Then, get the paint off the discs by driving the car around for a while.

They do NOT half-ass anything!
Ok.. maybe 1/4 ass things..

Doesnt doing that tho give you the newly installed brakepads&rotors smell?

I don't know, but my brakes have never been the same. (Don't yell at me, I had this done a long time ago before I knew what I was doing.)

Oh, and your pads look awesome by the way.

Where is a good place around here to get things powdercoated? I wanna do mine but i might as well have them done right.

The topic wasnt powder coating, and the comment "the right way" was unnecssary as well. Since you brought it up though, Ive heard good things about Jims powder coating in Athens.

I didnt mean that the way it came across, when i got my car thy had just painted them and it was all flaking off. I seriously doubt that they actually preped the area at all. Did not mean to offend anyone.

You cant powdercoatthem w/out totally disassembling them. Being in the oven screws them up. Im not saying this is an every time case but I have seen many cases where this happened.

Wasnt planning on doing it myself, i would rather have someone else powdercoat it then have to buy new calipers.

just get some powdercoat, dowse the general area, hop in car. apply brakes and gas, drive around.

walaaa. powerdcoated calipers. it melts to everythign hot and blows off the rest.

i mean hey, we baked my buddies prelude valve cover on top of a wood stove. jsut throw in old motor oil in the stove, really bring the temps up, to really get it to melt good.

no shite it's held for about 4 years now, except on the very bottom edges where it got overcooked on the stove.

p.s the powercoat on teh calipers just kidding, but hey might as well try it.

They are 5x114.3 What would you put them on? Id love to get a stock set of RX-8 wheels for the protege. I seen them on a mazda 3 and they looked real good. Id trade them for a set of 17's
