I'm Nick, I know JoeWhite, SiAdam, Jamie with the BMW, and i'm sure a few other ppl on here. I'm also interested in learning more about the autox and have put alot of thought into trying it. To bad i missed the cook out, i'll have to try and catch up with everyone on a cruise night. :o

Jon,

Are you sure? i don't think i've seen you in my life hehe. I haven't been over to the guys house in awhile. I talked to Andrew online last week and he told me they are all moving out? Did you know about it? So what are you driving right now? Wanna buy a convertible Trans Am ? Its forsale...make ya a deal on it. Well...i'd make anyone a deal. I kinda have my eye set on something awd and turbo'd..but not a car. Can i join the mov team if i'm driving an suv or a truck???

Hope to catch up with everyone sometime.

I know Carver is moving out, but after seeing what he did on Friday night it is probably for the better. Lets just say I hope the kid doesnt touch alcohal for a long time.

Anyways I am driving a 91 CRX HF with a wopping 62 hp, but 50 miles to the gallon. Was really dead set on doing a motor swap but drove an old muscle car yesterday (Chevelle with a 396) and am now pretty dead set on getting back into that scene since it seems so much cheaper to build than a honda. Plus you gotta love the sound and idle of a big ol cammed car.

Well off to the car auction with my brother, hopefully I can spot an older car that needs some TLC for cheap.

And yes I am sure you can get away with driving a Yugo and still join the club, nothing against yugo's of course

I like the imports/tuners too, but my heart, first and foremost, belongs to the Detroit heavy metal.

buy my trans am...its forsale. It'll run ya into the 13's and its nearly stock :o . I'll make ya a great deal on it....just hit me up sometime.

I'm only selling it because i have my heart set on something different...something goofy...something so american..that americans don't even remember it....like with these cars...

GM did right with some vehicles...like the buick grandnational? 3.8 turbo'd V6..15 minutes and some fine tuning and it'd run in the 12's nearly stock. Lil bit of effort and it'd go 10's.

ZR1 Corvette with the LT5. Most complex motor ever built by general motors...but to this day one of the best performance engines they ever built.

GMC syclone...AWD turbo'd 4.3L V6 truck...faster than the production vette in 91...not much more you can say

last but not least....

GMC typhoon..AWD suv with a turbo'd 4.3L V6..hauls people..hauls ass...estimates say that these engines kick out 300hp and nearly 300 ft lbs of torque...much more than the advertised numbers GM released. I do believe i want a family oriented SUV...oh yes...SUV for me indeed muahahaha

Someone buy my car so they can enjoy whats left of the warm weather

The GN is bad ass you have to throw in the Trans Am with the GN motor right with it though. The ZR1 motor was built by Mercury Marine though still a great car for today but the ZO6 is a better car. And the Typhoon and Syclone are just plain awesome there are quite a few around here but nobody knows what they are until they get wasted at a stop light. Just wish GM would have put more time in the turbo projects. They had everything turboed from the Grand Am to a truck.

Got any sources to back that up? Stock rubber?

Also, was the Cyclone faster than the Vette through the twisties?

Typhoon was cool, but nothing compared to the Mopar project truck, Sidewinder. 640BHP, 0-60 in 3.9, and... it was convertable.

And GNs are badass, but you first have to give credit to their fathers, the Gran Sports. It's a shame, too. I've been to hot rod shows all over this country, and can count the number of GSs I've seen with matching numbers on one hand.

http://www.turbobuick.com

Check that site out...i think you'll be very surprised what the buick GN's are capable of. I don't suggest messing with a stock one on a straight line. Twisties you'll be good to go.

As for a sy or ty running scca...here is the class of cars it is listed with in the solo II class..i think. Tthats if i read this right.

SCCA Solo II (Autocross) events:
F Stock class
AMC AMX, Javelin V8
BMW 5 series 6-cyl NOC*, 6 series coupe, 8 series coupe, M5 ('88-'93)
Buick Regal/Grand National, Turbo V6
Chevrolet Camaro V8 NOC*, Corvette ('53-'62)
Datsun 280 ZX Turbo
Dodge Stealth turbo
Ford Mustang Mach 1, Mustang V8 NOC*, Thunderbird V8, Supercharged V6
GMC Syclone, Typhoon
Infiniti Q45
Jaguar S-type (6-cyl), Sedans (12 cyl), XJ-S, XJ6 ('98+)
Lexus LS400, GS400, SC300
Lincoln LS V8 Sedans, Mark VIII
Mercedes C360, CLK V12 V8
Mercury Capri V-8, Cougar V-8, Supercharged V-6
Mitsubishi 3000 GT Turbo
Nissan 300ZX turbo (pre-'90), 300ZX non-turbo ('90+)
Pontiac Firebird V8 NOC*, GTO ('04+), Trans-Am Turbo V-6
Shelby GT350, GT500
Toyota Supra Non-turbo ('93+), Supra Turbo ('86 1/2-'92)
Triumph Stag
Catch-all V8 sedans, pick-ups, and sedan-derived convertibles NOC*

*NOC = Not Otherwise Classified

Not sure if that helps...i guess alot of those cars may not handle well...but i dunno. I'd assume the Ty is top heavy compared to the Sy...but i could be wrong. Both share a lower center of gravity.

AWD...surely that helps in some twisties :D

I wanted to add some more stuff for the Sy and Ty....

1/4 mile run with a Sy against a Ford Lightning.

http://johnpsu.web1000.com/videos/Syclo ... tning.mpeg (http://johnpsu.web1000.com/videos/Syclonevslightning.mpeg)

Here is another video with misc. vehicles...one includes that of a Sy running autocross.

Some cool videos...i think.
