I picked up a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials today. I really should have ordered them last month, but I put it off and the price went up $20 each :( Oh well, that seems to be a common theme everywhere I go. Anyways, one of my tires got cut when I got hit last fall. It's probably ok, but I don't want to take a chance on it. Instead of paying $300+ for a single tire, I went ahead and got 2 for a little over $400. I'm hoping these will help me get deep into the 11's this year. :)

Sweet. Nice tires man! Iam sure you will notice a big difference, although your current tires look awesome too.. :) Have you ever been to Kanawha Valley? What will she run in the 8th? I think I know you BTW.. A buddy and I bought a x pipe and mufflers off you a few years ago. Storgage unit in Vienna right? I think its the same showroom mustang I seen parked in their.. Nice Car.

Nope, storage unit in Newport. I don't think I've ever sold an x-pipe and mufflers....My dad takes all my old parts! I've been to Kanawha Valley back when my car was stock about 3 or 4 years ago. I ran a best of 9.45 then. When I ran at National Trails last year I ran a 8.07 in the 1/8 and 12.20 1/4.

Oh, okay my mistake. 9.5 is about right for a stock mustang i believe. I used to have a 91 LX 5.0 and I ran consistant 9.5's and my best time was 9.1 with the wife in the car and A/C on... I dont know how much it really made a difference, but I didnt spin nearly as far. So now, with the new tires and other mods your hoping for 7's?

I've been thinking of switching to the MT's for a while now. Right now I have the Nitto 555R's, but I've been told that the MT's are light years ahead in the DR technology? I'll probably still run the Nitto's until they're bald though. Let us know how you like them!

I can get in the 7's easy...Could have done it last year if I could have got in another run or two.(I only got 2 runs). I'm hoping to run fast enough to get kicked off the track for no cage, which would be 11.49 or faster. I don't know what that would be in the 1/8.
Keesor, I've heard the MT's are the stickiest DR's you can get but they don't last very long. I've heard anywhere from 3000 to 10,000 miles, depending on how you drive. I generally drive my car less than 1000 miles a year now so they should last a while for me. I'll definitely let you guys know how I like them once they're installed.

One thing I can say about the Nitto's is they do wear pretty well. My last set lasted about 12,000 miles. Now there wasn't any track time on them but even for just street use that is pretty good for such a soft tire. When the car was N/A you could launch from about 4000 RPM's without spinning on the street with a good burnout. Now that the SC's on the car 1st gear is back to being worthless. Hopefully some suspension work I'm doing right now will help with that, but I'm not expecting any miracles!
Thanks for the info man!!!
