I been looking to buy a Perrin radiator shroud for my subaru. Has anyone use them before does it really keep the car cool when driving?

From what I know of them the answer is yes & no. They do provide a bit of added cooling by ensuring that no air is lost upwards above the radiator, however I think they are also a 'cosmetic upgrade.'

It is sealing up the gap between the top of the core support and the radiator, however I'd say it's more for looks than anything.

Yes, sealing that gap will help the air be directed through the radiator, however the ammount that is directed aruond is minmal. Also once you are moving the air coming in isnt from the fan for the most part, thus rendering that shroud/cover rather useless.
