Spill the beans Jeremy!
I don't know the exact details, but Josh, dude that drives the red eclipse was talking to me and told me that they went down to the drag strip on Thursday and on the way back, he apparently downshifted and when he did it popped and blew out black smoke, they pulled off the road and it caught on fire. So it sounds like it had a short life....
I am sure Jeremy can add better detail..... 8)

this is mike.. the guy with the 88 ta. What happend was they were on their way up to the strip cruising at about 100-120 and jeremys car started to make a knocking sound and the same thing happend to his moms civic so jeremy turned around and started to head home and before he knew it he was running on 3 cylinders and it died about 6 miles out of parkersburg. Poor kid cant catch a break!

I thought the same thing too, little story. I am home one evening and around 11:30 Jeremy and Mike show up, I am like cool. So I walk outside and I hear this horrible knocking sound....what do you know, it was coming from his sisters 4 door civic. I was like dude, turn it off and check the oil. So we did and there was NO OIL. He was like, I wondered why Vtec wasn't working.... Anyway, Mike and him when to go get some oil and filter and filled it up. It helped a little bit, but the noise didn't really fade. Strike 2.
Don't get me wrong, I like Jeremy alot, he is a great guy, I feel when it comes to cars he is lazy about maintenence. Its great to mod them and have fun, but you have to think of the other side. Keep it running... 8)

god damn I'm off the site for a couple weeks and peope are allready talking shit about me, well anyway I guess I should tell the true story now, ok so me and josh are going to to the dragstrip thursday and yes we did hit 120 a couple of times put for the most part I was the one hanging back and not driving like I ass. Well anyway I was behind a truck when he pulled off the road at about a dead stop, so I put it in 1st and went to about 4 grand and heard I bad knock, 2nd gear up to 3 grand and the same thing, so I drive about half a mile down the road and tell josh and jeff that I'm going to head back. So it went all the way from a little to knock to me being 6 miles out of p-burg and the car puffing black, white, grey smoke and dieing. Yes it had oil in it, there was only 1000 miles of the new oil ( adam you bitch ).

I know a enough about honda motors that I find that your story is full of shit.
Honda motors just dont come apart @4k if properly maintained and taken care of.
Downshifts is what usually what will destroy most honda motors when you over rev them way to high past the limiter when you downshift which I am pretty sure is what you did.
It happens to the best of us, so no need to be ashamed. Ive done this a few times myself selecting the wrong gear, but I never threw a rod or spun a bearing, just blew the headgasket.
I know where a couple of cheap blocks and could help you out if need be. I might be able to help you and see what the problem is, but ill be busy for a few days.

well tim said he would call some people up in columbus and see if he could get me a good deal, if not I was told a new z6 would run me around 400 at landots (sp) so if tim can't find anything I think landots is my only other option because I would really like to stay with the z6 if I could. I don't know what I would do if I only had 60hp.

So you are just looking for a new block to bolt up with the new internals w/no head? 8)

Not really. He said he everything but the long block was ok. Basically what looks to have happened is either the rod or the bearing let go right around the crankshaft. The piston flew up and smacked the exhaust valves then got shot back down where what was left of the rod got caught between the crank and the front side of the engine. The crank in turn pushed the end of the rod through the engine wall causing the hole and snapping the connecting rod right below of the wrist pin. Several chunks of connecting rod are visable in the oil pan through the hole and the #2 piston is permanently (at least until complete disassembly) locked at the bottom of the stroke.
It would appear that the head is ok aside the #2 exhaust valves. They appear to be slightly open...I suspect this is because they are slightly bent. This suspicion might be proven wrong on closer inspection, but I suspect that replacement of the 2 exhaust valves is likely necessary.

As i said before I know where a couple Z6 blocks are for cheap ($200 or so)
Marietta Ignition will redo the head for cheap and the they do a great job
Are you going to do the swap yourself or you gonna have a shop do it?

Hit me up with PM if you are interested.

I won't let a honda owner go in need of parts when I usually can get what is needed...

At about 3:15PM on Sunday, Jeremy and I arrived at Cooper Stadium in Columbus to meet up with some friends of mine at the OVR Region Autocross. We spectated for about an hour and a half, and then headed to Westerville where my friend Jay lives, so we could pick up Jeremy's D16Y8 Block and D16Z6 Head. We also grilled out with several of the OVR Autocross junkies and OhioHondas.com members. At about 10PM we pulled into Jeremy's driveway and unloaded the pieces of his new engine.
All in all, we had a great time and brought home some nice cheap parts to fix Jeremy's car... Now all we need is to schedule the movFast.com Fall Meet/Fix Jeremy's Car get together... New thread, anyone? :D

Sorry davis, I couldn't find you the parts you requested.. HOWEVER, a friend of mine from Columbus who is a tech at Germain Toyota has a 2001 Impreza 2.5RS and he just purchased a totalled 2004 WRX with just over 1000 miles on it... Time for a WRX Swap!
Here is a pic of his RS parked alongside our buddy Aaron's 04 STI at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when there were there recently for a race.

Well, the guy with the STI has a 99 Civic Si that is a dedicated autocross car, and the guy with the red RS lives with an ohiohondas member and autocrosses with a lot of them... so it's all in the family.
