Great until it grenades itself and shoots piece of plastic-metal into your intake manifold...then we will see how "super" it really is.... 8)

Just a question about your sig quote there, someone. What's it supposed to mean? Die so young? How many 85 year old Hondas do you know of, that run as strong as they day they were built? They've been building 300+ horsepower engines for 40 years, and to this day I don't know of a single Honda that comes with 300+ HP from the manufacturer, without the requirement of thousands of dollars worth of bolt-ons and/or swaps.

Domestics have been through wars, depressions, recessions, and much more than you could ever imagine. If there is a car that has an ouce of heart and soul, it was put together by the blood, sweat, and tears that pour out of Detroit.

Nicely said and totally agree. (nothing against Honda but Detroit has been making cars for awhile now  )

I wasn't implying that you wanted one, I was speaking metaphorically.... 8)

my friend had one on his pathfinder....honestly it actually did work..it was set to come on either by a switch in the cab or when the engine reached a certain RPM..it delivered around 4 lbs of "boost" pressure which was enough to make a slight diffrence when climbing a hill or pulling a trailer...anytime the engine started to labor you would hear it come on and feel the engine pull slightly harder....its not going to win any races for you, but for a hundred and some change it does deliver an extra boost of HP when needed

i dont see it being something that is goign to last a long time though

I would like to see that because the ones I have seen when dynoed decreased power because it was more of a restriction than anything else.

There is a supercharger kit out there that is an actual roots style supercharger with like 3 starters attached to it. You have to run a some extra batteries, though. The ad/website also include little "praise jesus" snippets, so that made it kinda weird...

Yeah it uses like three starter motors and a bank of batteries. only good for a couple of seconds.

This is an old post, but I thought I should ad that I think in Japan it is against regulations to produce a car with over 300hp. Which would explain why the 350z has no turbo version, as it's already close to 300hp.

Well, the sig is gone now, and I don't recall what exactly it said, but it was along the lines of "Domestics are junk, Hondas are the heart of motoring". My post, while I currently drive an import and have owned several (Impreza, Supra, CRX, etc), was in defense of domestics.

Don Juan, the stock schematics of a Type-S A-SPEC lists 200 bhp@7400 RPM. Quite a ways from 300+, stock.

Regardless of the reasons, my point was, 'get a clue'. Just because tuners and ricers are the current fad (not that theres anything wrong with it/them), there is no reason to "hate" on our American steel.

Kak, your 87 runs just fine? Congratulations. Come back in 42 years, when your 87 is the same age as the average sled that cruises these roads on a daily basis. Hell, come back in 22 when its "appreciated" as finely as your standard 'muscle car'. I'm willing to bet that in 22 years, there will be a lot more 60 year old Camaros, and Novas, and Darts, and LeManses, and Firebirds than there are 25 year old Civics.

Just one last point, to accentuate the value that enthusiasts put into Detroit heavy metal, point to at least one person that is willing to pay $3-6 Million for a stock Civic.

in 40 years there wont be any cars with more then 50 HP...you will look back and remeber the good old days of tooling around in that 120 HP civic
