Try working in Wetzel and Marshall counties in WV

Shitty record keeping, no one owns minerals, most ppl who own minerals from their great great granddad are not being taxed, you name it.

It used to take about 6 weeks to get a title completed in that hole.

Side note;
My gf worked in Pikeville for a while, so did a friend of mine Angie.

I had an offer to run a pipeline job down there some time back for CHK.

I can totally relate, I think backwoods KY and backwoods WV are probably very similar.

Pikeville isn't a horrible place, just not much for young people to do.

There are mineral companies all over the place down here.

Yea I wasent too fond of it myself.

She had an apt. while she worked there, so she had a pretty good setup.
Alot of ppl I know who get locked into long term jobs find a house to buy, then rent it to themselves so they can expense it.

They were talking about this guy at an AAPL meeting who a few years back was in NY I believe? Anyhow he had an RV he was staying in, but he was making up his own receipts for an apartment and expensing them. He got away with it for some time, like 13 months I think it was, and would of continued had he not been charging so much. I forget what the rate was, but it was something rediculous.

Jamie, you in the AAPL or MLBC, or anything?

I am in the AAPL.

I didnt buy a house down here but I do rent one. I lived in a hotel for 4 months. Needless to say the house is a lot easier to work out of.

Living out of hotels sucks.
You just never feel "at home" so to speak.

I had to go to NY for 2wk's to help wrap up a job that was ending and they put me up in a rental Cottage. It was sweet. I took my dog.

AAPL is a good place to make some contacts.
Kiss hands & shake babies.

Im sure you have realised by now in this business it's not so much what you know but who you know.

Project Managers are so because theyre a friend of a friend or related to him or her.
They are the ppl who know a little bit about every aspect, but alot about none.
