4well i just spent an hour reading over at gixxer.com and am starting to doubt myself with a 600cc bike again. i have not ridden anything seriously. i have been told to get a 250 to start but also hear i will get bored easily and fast. many suggest the 600 and be smart for a while and very careful. gixxer.com has made me doubt myself.
this is especially discerning as i was wanting to look at that 02 movistar 600 tomorrow.
what do you all think? if i got a 250 i would buy new since they have redesigned the 250.
new ninja 250r:

600 unless you want a bike for just one season...
Id get a 250 if i was a raging fucking douche who was too big of a pussy to own a real fucking bike but used the excuse of wanting a "starter bike" to hide the fact i was either afraid of a real bike or could not afford one.

lol yea something like that.
Im an asshole when im drunk.
Not much dif than when im sober tho..
Ok, on topic..
250's suck. Period.
That's just my opinion, but that's exactly how I feel.
IMO they are a girls bike. And even then I know a few girls who ride 6's so..
When the new 250 came out I thought and still do think it looked pretty cool. My gf has been wanting another 6 for a while and I said "hey why dont you geta new 250 they look like a real bike instead of a moped now" and she looked at me like i was an idiot and said "i wouldnt own one of those pieces of shit".
If you just want something really cheap on gas and insurance to ride to/from work or what not then yea a 250 is prob the way to go. If you are wanting a real bike however, for actually riding, then stay the hell away from a 250.
A 250 will do one of 2 things.
You will buy it and realise what a shit-pile it is then sell it and go buy a real bike
or
You will buy it and realize you are rather unsure of yourself (scared of bikes in general) and either sell it or keep it and ride like a squid.
No "REAL" sportbike rider even considers a 250 as being a "REAL" bike. Theyre tinker toys.
Look at it from a car guy's point of view;
Would you rather own a V8 Mustang GT, or a base model 6cyl?
How many women & highschool girls do you see driving the 6cyl?
^ Consider a 250 the 6cyl version of the Mustang.
There's def no "ohh ahh" factor there.
I never have and never will understand why anyone suggests a "starter bike". That's just retarded. I have heard ppl w/250's say things like "Well i'd prob kill myself on a 600" - well if that's the case then they are too damn stupid to have a bike period. Stupid is not bound by cc's. You can get hurt on a 250 the same as a 600 or litre bike if you ride like a jackass.
Plus it's a Kaw.
Kaw's suck.
I think everyone's first bike should be a turbo Busa.
That would ween out the noob's really quick. Natural selection!
lol

yeah I have heard many good things about busas being starter bikes..........
If you want a bike to start out on and want to get good MPG when driving back and forth to work wouldnt a rebel be better because its a honda!!

i dont care for the rebel too much either.
for a year or two all i will do is ride to/from work. about 50-60 miles a day.
i still plan to check out the Movistar tomorrow and heck i may just buy it and park it at my dads in marietta until spring. you never know what i will do...most of the things i do dont make sense.

Haha yea same here.. my actions rarely make sense to even me.
The Telefonica is a cool looking bike.
