PARKERSBURG - Go-Mart has purchased Grand Dad's Market at 1810 Camden Ave. The sale was final July 27.
Grand Dad's, owned by Hank Oldaker, operated for about seven years.
"Grand Dad's owners were looking to sell. We heard about it... and we bought it," said John Heater, president of Go-Mart.
"They asked us to make them a proposal and we did," Heater said.
Heater said the signs have been changed and some minor changes to the building, including painting, have been done.
"Business is good," he said.
Go-Mart owns about five stores in the Mid-Ohio Valley. About 100 stores operate in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia. The convenience store chain also sells gasoline.
The Oldaker family did not wish to comment.
