PT turbo and SRT4 Mopar BOV video

We put a Mopar BOV conversion plate on a PT Cruiser Turbo recently and the results were interesting. Before, I could never hear it blow off at all, though the owner said he could. It's weird because to get my friend's Eclipse Turbo to blow off, it usually takes a bit of spooling, but this thing is always ready to blow off. I guess there's just no lag...? Anyways, here's the after video. This is the first time any of us had heard it, so the reaction is on there, too. I believe it was "F*CKIN-A." For all of you 2.4 Turbo owners that wanted to know what the Mopar BOV sounds like, here you go.

basically the neon and the PT are on the same platform so a turbo PT is the same as a SRT4 but heavier and a little top heavy.

Any way you look at it its still a friggin pt, so that means it sucks

I sure do, and since the pt has 215 hp and is only about 3 tenths faster than my car in the 1/4 I think I can say whatever the hell I want considering my car has/had 127

The closest Civic stats I can find to a 7.2 0-60 were for a 2003 Si, and they're still a half second off. I didn't even bother with 1/4 miles. His car came with 17" chrome wheels, a tangerine pearl paint job (inside is all orange an black leather), and buttloads of torque, and the space of a minivan. Don't get me wrong here, I drive a 93 Grand Am GT and am not slamming your civic. But why would you even waste your effort cracking on someone else's car that is considerably nicer than your's?

a buddy of mine has a silver S2k with a full exhaust, intake, an i believe a vtech controller.. im tryin to get him to supercharge it. it runs pretty good as it is now tho.

Would be nice to get a race in with a sk2 one time @ the strip, I don't have any clue what they run.

Its funny, b/c I have drove many a Mustang Gt & Cobra and they feel soo much faster than my carm even though I am faster. I miss not having any tq.... 8)

There' a white one for sale used on 7th st. for 26,900. I would love to have one but theyre kinda pricey for only getting bout half of a car. Cant see spending that much cash on something you dont wana drive every day.

Personally i liked how the red civic looked. it was clean, an had a nice subtle wing.. an white wheels. not too hot on the slopomatic tho.

Have you seen Nathans sis' car? The red lude' w/white wheels? Not sure how old she is.. she goes to PHS but shes friggin hot lol. (oh, an the car aint bad either)

And for the record, I like Adam's PRESENT car. Black wheels, pretty blue, subtle exterior, and a turbo. I never saw the red one, but I doubt it was that nice.

Anyways, grand am gt is a nice car, but, due to me hating gm I wouldn't own one, done enough work on other peoples, the pt I've never liked just cause the body style is trying to be reminiscent, and falls short too far for me, shoulda stopped with the Prowler, yeah, overpriced, but man, that was pretty, and a civic hatch, yeah I want one, love the body on em, so that pretty much covers me stating my opinion, have at it boys

I agree that Prowlers are very hot and very underappreciated. I dislike the PT for trying to be retro, but I don't think any less of them. You guys wanna see lame, wait til the Chevy HHR comes out. They have been planning this thing since the PT was put into planning, but they are finally releasing it. It looks IDENTICAL (almost, at least) to the PT. That's lame. On a side note, did you guys know that they marketed Olds Aleros as Chevy Aleros in some other countries (no big surprise, but I saw pics today and it was weird) and Toyota sold Cavaliers in Japan as a Toyota model? If I'm wrong here, I'm sorry, but these are things I have found out recently that I thought were interesting.
