PARKERSBURG -The barn doors on Seventh Street have reopened.
The Red Barn Tavern, a former night spot built in the early 1970s from the remnants of three old barns, has reopened its doors.
After a three-year closure, the long-time tavern is trying to remake itself into a family-friendly establishment.
Roger Morrison and Harley Wilson spent several weeks getting ready for business. The old building still has the look of its barn origins, with solid oak planks lining the walls and oak beams, complete with wagon wheel lights fixtures, spanning the ceiling.
The walls are decorated with much of the same farm artifacts that hung when the place opened in the 1970s. Some of the farm tools are more than 125 years old.
Morrison said he's trying to bring a family-friendly environment back to the Seventh Street locale.
Morrison said the Red Barn has daily specials and a menu that includes sloppy joes, hamburgers and sausage and kraut.
The place also maintains all-night weekend hours, staying open until 6 a.m. Thursday-Saturday offering a breakfast buffet.
.. ^ Where in the hell is this place?
I drive 7th daily and I havent seen it.
