05 STi winter wheels and tires

It is about that time, what do you guys think would make a good reasonable set of winter wheels and tires?

I used Bridgestone Blizzacks on my RS and will go to some type of all-season tire for the STi. Doesn't seem that we have consistent winters here in MOV so a all-season will work for me.

However, if you need snow tires, the blizzacks worked great for me as my old house had a 1/3 mile steep driveway and the Blizs. made it very easy. Good on moderate ice too.

Make sure you do NOT get a set of 04 STi wheels as the off-set and lug pattern are different than your 05. If might be difficult to find 05 aftermarket wheels right now.

Oh, and if you want some serious winter tires..get a narrow set of Hakkas. (hakkapellitta)

I think you really only need snow tire up north. You should be fine on a set of All-Seasons. I'm running Continential ExtremeConti's. They kick but in the snow but I don't like them much in the dry. They have too soft of a sidewall and not a heck of a lot of grip.

Curious as to what you can find for the 05 right now. Let us know!
