Well, ive been looking for a certain style Rim for a long time, and i've finally found the rims i want.. But they only come in 17 inch, So i wasnt sure if i should get them because of how much bigger i thought they would be.... But me and my friend got bored the other day and desided to put his rims on my car just to see how much bigger it would actually look, and i don't see a bit of difference... Check it out
here is the wheels that i plan on getting soon... 8)

When I had my 14" steelies on my car with tire it was actually the same size as my 17" wheels. Having a bigger rim with a lower profile tire actually is the same size as having a smaller rim with a bigger sidewall. Evens out for the most part.
You may notice your car is a alot slower off the line, b/c it has to use the precious torque to get those bigger/heavier wheels turning.

It depends on how theyre made.. Ive seen some 17's that werent even considered a racing wheel that were extremely light. Then youve got those real light but real ugly drag light wheels I had on the maroon mustang.. It didnt bother me trading more weight for the 'r' to get those ugly things off.

Yea, im also thinking after i get the wheels ship'em off to cbus to get them powdercoated to a darker gunmetal, and leave the chrome lip the way it is.. I think that wouldlook alot better, but i can only tell when i get them 8)
Or? has anyone ever seen rims like those that i want, But dark gunmetal? a different brand maybe? In a 17inch, that would be alot better then to get them PC'ed, Or is Pc better than the paint that comes on wheels?
jrchannell would be the guy to ask. Not sure how much it';d cost you but he could prob save you some cash on a set. He's got some catalogs an stuff for wheels at work. 'McClintons' - If im not mistaken the painted ones from the factory are indeed powdercoated. If not then theyre painted using Emron, which is a really durable paint (same which used to paint airplanes) but I dont think anyone around here will paint with Emron cause of it being so hazordous.

I thought you were looking for something specifically 9 spoke. So it was taking a little more time, if you are looking at just the same basic design, you could check out http://www.wheelsnext.com

Did you figure out your lower control arm placement problem Joe? not yet.. i don't really understand the problem because im getting alot of noise from the drivers side.. but the passanger side seems to be the side having the problem... IM gonna get my bushings replaced soon.. on both sides and get some of the other parts looked at.. in the process.. :?

Nice wheels...do you have any idea how much they weigh?
I know Motegi isn't exactly the ideal wheel, but they had some on clearance at Jegs that were 18" and only weighed 19 lbs. or somewhere near that. They were only $140 a wheel and look like a Volk TE37 in black with a polished lip (there'a different part number for those Volks than TE37 because they're limited edition, but I have no idea what it is).

Adam, buddy, no offense man, but WTF did you just say? Did you mean to be completely contradictory?
*Edit: I guess you mean your ADR's? (April's initials BTW) Like I said before, those particluar Motegi's are pretty damn light. PJ's Volks are 18" and they weigh about 17 lbs. They were ~$600 per wheel. These are $600 for a set and weigh a mere 2 pounds more..?
*edit again: I looked them up and can't find the weights for them. I did find these 17" Motegis that weigh 14.5 lbs.

My bad....I wasn't to clear there...
My Adr's are light. They weigh the same as my stock wheels did.
I remember on my old ex, they killed what little power it had....

I'd say the automatic transmission had a lot to do with that as well...

Thats not what I meant. It seemed so much more peppier with the tiny 14's on it. Then with the 17's it felt like I was dragging 500 lbs behind me...

Sweet rims... I have a helluva time finding rims for my Supra because of the negative offset that my car has due to it being RWD and not FWD. Putting some FWD rims on my car will make it look retarded because of the positive offset FWD rims have (the mounting surface being so close to the outside side of the rim)....
(my car stock 14 x 7" w/ a +8mm offset.)
Celicasupra.com has tons of discussions about good light rims but *sigh* the rims that are offered with the right offset in a 4 bolt pattern are expensive...
