Tonight was the first of the Presidential Debates.

Being a registered Independent, I was for Bush before the debates, and still am. I hate to say this but if I just had moved here and didn't know anything about either President, I would say Kerry acted more "Presidential" then Bush.

They stayed on point and did a good job conveying there individual message. Although it wasn't heated, I expect it will be closer to the elections.

They mainly disccused the security of the country, terrorissm, etc. Sorta of drawn out, but still worth watching them go @ it. I wish they would take the gloves off, and not fight, but argue with intelligence. Quick on there feet so to speak.

Anyway, I would be interested in knowing who you plan on voting for and what party you are registered as.

As stated unless something changes my opinion....

Bush

Kerry keeps trying to argue that Iraq was not supporting terrorism and that NK is our first priority. He could never be so wrong about Iraq since Saddam openly payed families whose children suicided-bombed themselves to kill Israelis or Americans. That is one instance. Then you have the whole situation where he gassed the entire region and everything.

But he was never a threat. Never had any sort of WMD (he sold them, its not hard), and was again not a threat.

Then he said NK had 4-10 (iirc) nuclear weapons. Oh, ok? They just started their nuclear program up again and bam they're loaded? Not only do they not have a way of launching them over there.. their nuclear program is pathetic at best. If the god damn UN would do their job we wouldn't have to worry about it!

Kerry also needs to stop talking about Vietnam. Thats his push to be president. I'm not bush and I went to vietnam. Vote for me.

Yea, the debates were decent.

I think the regulations and rules were to heavy and didn't allow the 2 guys to go at each other more directly.

Kerry seemed very comfortable and "presidential" behind the podium. He should..he is a career politican.

Bush did well too and got some punches in yet acted very natural..not as poised as Kerry but perhaps more likable and understanding.

Next debates should be interesting as well as the VP's.

However my decision was made long ago:)

I didn't watch it. I can't watch Bush talk without wanting to punch him in the face, so I just skip everything political nowadays. It just causes problems. Someone's going to be like "Bush is a great, intelligent man who has done so much for our country, why would you wanna punch him?" I'm not going to say anything back. I'm not here to get in arguments over how great our president is. I just want to state that political discussions make me sick now because people completely ignore the truth. You know what the only bad thing I have heard about Kerry was (that was at all true, that is)? "Why the long face, John?" Yes, he looks like a horse, but oh well. I voted for Nader last time, and he's no Pam Anderson. Bush looks like a cartoon monkey. That has nothing to do with how he would handle the presidency. Also, just because he went out bombing people after 9/11 doesn't make him a good president. I don't think any president would just sit back and do nothing. Everyone's a flip-flopper. Every election, there are these new words or phrases that people use. It's flopaganda if you ask me. Stop talking shit about all the other candidates, stop making up stuff about them, and tell me why you're here. Don't lie about it.

"What country before ever existed a century & a half without a
rebellion? & what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers
are not warned from time to time that his people preserve the spirit
of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right
as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives
lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its
natural manure."
-Thomas Jefferson

I'm voting for Bush. Not because of the debates, butt the debates confirmed my conclusion. It seemed like Kerry just kept saying the same thing over and over and pulling shit out his ass to make the president look bad? At some points it seemed he was cleary just making stuff up, and making assumptions about past political practices.

As far as I'm concerned, we won't truly know if Bush was a good pres or not for another 4 years at least, I don't trust Kerry, the end, Kerry flips over too much for my liking, if the voters wanted socialism, kerry would support it, so, I'm voting for bush

I have a huge problem with all the lies. Every time Bush would say he did anything Kerry would say its a load of B/S. Its' really hard to figure out who to believe and/or trust.
I think Kerry looked alot better in the debates and he was a little faster with his responses but you also have to think Kerry had been resting and preparing all day while Bush was out helping flood victims and he showed it i think he looked very tired. Hopefully at the city hall debate both will be 100%.

If i was 18 i would be voting for Bush...........
