give it a couple years, I know it probably won't happen and I hope it doesn't happen but I'm still a little scared just becuase it's the same engine and all.

going a little bit OT butt I found a few things wrong with the thread Robbie posted. Hope this clears up some stuff. I have done a lot of researching and this is what I have found.

Crankwalk is limited to 95-99 DSMs only (in theory) because the issue of crankwalk has been determined to be cranks and bearings machined out of spec in this time period by a company Mitsubishi sourced out to do this work. Furthermore if your vehicle were to experience crankwalk you take it to the dealer and they will replace the crank assembly with new parts which are machined into spec. There is not a recall for this, so basically you have to demand it. However if your crank has been walking for too long, it could have made a new trail into your block which will cause even the newer "in spec" assembly to eventually walk.

they won't replace anything at the dealer. This is not a covered expense. It happened alot to the 7 bolt 4g63's. i have read about crankwalk on 92 models, the first year of the 7 bolt motor. it usually starts with a grind in second gear, and not being able to take the transmission out of gear at a stop.

I also hear that Mitsu completely voids the warrenty as soon as you drive an Evo off the lot...

<---- not scared of crankwalk cause his Evo didn't come from Normal, IL, it came from JAPAN

They will replace it if they tear your engine apart and see that the crank assembly is out of spec. just like i said, however there is no recall for it so you have to be experiencing it, and it has to be within your drivetrain warranty period of course.

maybe Channel can put in a few words, since he is a service advisor?

Yeah and unless they get lucky in the next few years with sales, or Daimler Benz bails them out, there won't be any more mitsubishi.

yeah he is right there is no recall, for the main reason it would cost them too much money to take care of something of that expense.

Sounds like the 95-99 420a HG they will replace it if you harp on them(depending on mileage) but they didnt recall it.
