Ok, so I was driving around Parkersburg and I got bored and sorta followed a black honda around. I'm wondering if it was anyone on here.
Honda 02-->04?
Black
2-door
super dark tinting
rims? I can't remember
TDM on license plate frame.
Sorry, I don't know what make/model it is. They mostly all look alike to me.

Was it a coupe or a hatch? If it was a coupe it sounds like the guy that everybody says is an undercover cop or whatever.

Coupe. (it had a trunky trunk thing)
is he really an undercover cop or is it a joke about someone on here? Makes me glad I didn't dick around near him.

I bet it's you SiAdam... :paranoid No offense I just don't like cops in general... I realize I have nothing to fear from them as long as I'm obeying the law. However I personally feel that too many of them see the world in black & white.
Plus I had a rather traumatic incident with the son of the Sherrif in Morgan County (His son was a deputy) and Deputy Tommy Jenkins Jr, and his BRAND NEW Asst. Deputy, whose first day it was on the job, enjoyed themselves by bashing my face into the hood of their cruizer after pulling me over for some fairly normal speeding. (69 in a 55)
So ever since then.. I just keep my distance. I'm sure you're a good guy & all... eh.... We'll have to hang out sometime and put myself @ ease.

Well I'm not a cop. I just work with them, no offense taken....lol...
I felt the same way before I worked there...I thought cops were dicks....but working with them, they are normal people just like you and I. I have become good friends with many of them. As with ANY job there are bad apples....just have to weed through that.....sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience....don't let that leave a bad taste in your mouth.
They have a job do just like us. Just that there job puts them in the spot light more than most. Nobody likes to be corrected when they do something wrong...myself included...and its there duty to inform us when we are out of line...and that makes them alot of times look like a "bad guy"
Hopefully your next experience will be alot better..... 8)

YES that's the car, yeah, it's like Über black, and he had one of those buzz-bomb carbon-fiber (look alike?) exhausts.. though mine is louder (due to no bottom in the resonator hehe).

I donno, the car doesn't look overdone... I like it it's simple. no stupid vinyl graphics (by stupid I mean huge and LOUD, used properly they're pimp, and a heckova lot cheaper'n a l337 paint job)

Yeah now that you mention it Joe, it is just like tims. Never put 2+2 together... I guess because tims isn't black on black, it's red on (clear?) windows... it makes the entire cars shape look different.

Yeah I mean I didn't do anything illegal, I simply followed him around at a safe following distance. Most he coulda complained about is the fact I never went above 3rd gear.
I just find it SOOO boring in Marietta, all the "ricers" (clowns that have "look fast" crap on their cars, camaros, mustangs, trucks & the like) sit around and NEVER do anything. They don't drive anywhere, they revel in doing burnouts when they pull outta the parking lot (either the Cone & Shake or the old Movie Gallery building)... It's so stupid. I just want to drive around town and basically play follow the leader.. No one even talks cars, they just talk about stupid stuff... Boring.

Hey i hang out there :? , But yea i don't like most of the people that hang out there that think they are all fast.. and think that they have so much power because they can spin their tires while pullling out of the parkinglot.. Most of the people i hang out with are actual go fast cars.. Such as A couple mustangs, another integra, S2000... And so on, because there isnt every anything else to do in town.. we just hang out there and talk about car setups and such... stop by sometime it actually isnt that bad 8)

I have stopped by, from what I can tell it's mostly high-school kids. I'm not knocking on Mustangs, or Camaro's. What I AM saying is that I haven't seen a single car there that had any form of engine modifications that didn't go beyond cosmetic. That's all good & jazzy, however I must be misinterpreting the whole point of hanging out there. I don't wanna talk about how drunk you got last weekend (not you Joe, just you in the general sense) or how your friend was so stoned he fell off the couch...
I guess I'm just eclectic and fairly narcissistic (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=narcissistic&r=67). I just wish we had a local track (1/4 mi strip & circuit or super huge parking lot that was LEGAL to drift in).

I wonder what it would take to get one put in. From a materials stand point, the most expensive thing aside from the construction itself would have to be the land, followed by Insurance.
You'd need:
Land
Construction
-dozers to rip down about 18" to put in riff raff
-dozers to move the fill in the road course
-concrete with woven wire to hold it, rebar if you're psycho
Paving
-Paving of drag strip
-Paving of road course
-paving of parking areas
Lighting
-electrical utility installed
-lighting (light poles) installed
-local municipality Electrical Inspection
Fencing
-to keep people out when off hours
Corner stuff...
-Setup some type of corner defense to slow down those out of control people.
Electronics
-purchase a set of timers & christmas trees, along with the scoreboards
Insurance
-so whoever puts it together doesn't get the shirt off their back taken.
All in all, I think maybe 15,000 on a middling estimate could get it put together. Thing is we could get local sponsorship, get the word out that there's a LEGAL place where you don't have to worry about getting fined/impounded/arrested for having fun.

well neglecting the land costs part. And my dad has a backhoe, as well as a ripper, a blade, a disc, and we have done stuff before.
It's something that I might see about getting together. Make it an area collective push for a community owned track. Though there would be a lot of headaches between coming up with a committee to oversee it, deciding location, how we could come up with sponsors and everything.
We could always pave later and go with concrete. How you finish it has a LOT to do with how smooth it turns out. Keep it wet and running a floater over it every 5 minutes and it'll be like glass, float it after you let the water sink in and it gets a little rougher... then you can alwasy drag a rake over it to get a really grippy part, but that's from pouring driveways.. not what we'd want @ a track.
I'm just one to put my time & effort where my mouth is... I don't have $$ but I've got the gumption.
Feedman
10-27-2004, 01:46 PM
Concrete isn't the best idea for a track. Paving is the only way to go.
Our street is a hair over a 1/4 mile long and to have it paved it costs roughly 5k. So double that b/c you have 2 lanes which is 10k. Return roads back and you are very easily @ 15k, just in roads.
The land is going to be @ least that....depending....
Timing equipment - $
Lighting - $$$$
You would be surprised how much it costs to have a track...thats why there aren't as many as you would think....
To get started around 50k.....
You would have to be open for many years to get that money back, if they weren't any terrible wrecks/tragedies and the insurance didn't raise your rates........ 8)

Jamie/Dood in the black civic ~ is NOT a Sheriff, as tho he does tell everyone that.. he's a correctional officer at the jail. Technically that does give him some sort of title, deupty perhaps im not real sure, but he doesnt have a gun, any rights to pull ppl over, enforce law, ect. I didnt think he was.. but had to ask a sheriff buddy to make sure :D The title he gave the kid was 'douche'

There are also auto-x once a month and the occaisional 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile runs.....
Sometimes we get together and play some Halo on x-box....so whatever floats your boat....your are more than welcome.... 8)
